Nanny Of The Week: The Brilliant + Driven Kate Hooper

Nanny Of The Week

Kate Hooper

Once in a while, we come across a candidate we wish we could clone and place in every job. Right now we wish we could clone the brilliant and driven Kate Hooper.

Kate is a highly educated, proactive, and sought after nanny and family assistant with over 10 years of experience working in private homes. Having been with her last family for 7 years, she is ready for her next adventure! She hopes to find a position in a big city she can explore, and loves starting with infants so she can grow with the family for years to come.

With experience working at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute’s Early Childhood Clubhouse, Kate is an expert at planning and researching developmentally appropriate classes and activities. Kate values education and applies her extensive knowledge to working with families while traveling, at home, or managing their households. Kate has that rare “thing” about her that allows her to maintain a fun and lighthearted atmosphere while keeping all the important details in place.

In addition to all of this, Kate has a BA in psychology, an MS in criminal justice and criminology, speaks conversational Spanish and loves to prepare healthy meals. She is also highly experienced working with children with special needs. Her goal is to learn American Sign Language. Here is an excerpt from her experience:

“I designed and implemented social, recreational, and community activities for a group of 8 children ages 3-6 years old with Autism, developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral disorders. I assisted staff in developing an individualized therapeutic program for each child taking into consideration the child’s social skills, behavioral problems, fine and gross motor skills, and cognitive skills. I interacted with parents and family members daily to update on progress and conduct of children.”

We feel incredibly lucky when getting to know a person like Kate Hooper. People like Kate help us to underscore the value of dedicated childcare professionals. Her body of work elevates the often misunderstood and undervalued career path of being a nanny or private educator, and we are beyond proud to represent her here at Adventure Nannies.
