An active, heart-filled family based just north of Boston, Massachusetts is seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and intuitive private educator for their 8-year-old and 6-year-old children!

In the wake of COVID-19, this family is excited to embark on the journey of homeschooling with their children to provide a nurturing, structured environment for the children’s education. The 8-year-old is in 2nd grade and is very bright, loves math and science, and is a thoughtful, focused student. The 6-year-old is in kindergarten and is intellectually curious, thrives on play-based learning, and is very social and interactive. They are currently taking remote classes through their public school and are excited to bring in a private educator next fall to build engaging, tailored, and hands-on curriculum for their academic studies.

The ideal candidate for this position will be passionate about creating learning experiences that are catered to both the children’s developmental progress and interests. They will be a proactive and resourceful professional who is ready to jump in and partner with the parents as they navigate transitioning their children to homeschooling. This private teacher will spearhead research to ensure the curriculum they are working with and developing meets grade-level learning targets and is state compliant. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in education is essential along with a driver’s license in order to conduct field trips both at home and while/if traveling with the family! Experience teaching in an elementary classroom setting will be required. A candidate who is confident researching, developing, and implementing curriculum and who is flexible to adapt and go-with-the-flow will thrive in this role.

This is a full-time, live-in or live-out position. The family is happy to discuss an ideal schedule with the perfect candidate, as well as consider a year-round schedule or a summer/holiday break schedule. They are offering $30-$40/hour and annualized earnings of $65k+. They are open to discussing the compensation package further based on expertise, experience, and qualifications and are also open to providing additional benefits such as relocation assistance, healthcare stipend, and paid time off. Driving is required for this position along with a reliable vehicle. The position will begin in early September 2020!
