A creative and tech-savvy family in Brooklyn is looking for a responsible, loving, and attentive nanny.
Their daughter, who is 2.5 years old, is in preschool part-time. The parents value her getting quality one-on-one time with a caregiver who can support her discovery-oriented play, design stimulating creative activities, and provide ongoing fun learning opportunities.
The daughter can be a bit shy, especially in large groups, but is very articulate, good natured, opinionated and affectionate, and genuinely appreciates the attention and focus of a caring adult.
The nanny will also be assisting around the household, including but not limited to doing laundry, some meal prep for the child (e.g. packing school lunches, and the occasional dinner), as well as work owith their daughter on developmental milestones (e.g. potty training). They hope to find someone part-time or near full-time to use the hours their daughter is in school to do the toddler-centric chores (food, laundry) and planning projects and activities.
The family believes boundaries are important, but that a young child needs to explore and express herself. They are looking for someone who can help walk that line around keeping their daughter safe and engaged, and being herself.
The ideal candidate would have some or all of the following qualities: a background in early childhood education, experience with toddlers, great communication skills, familarity with Williamsburg/Brooklyn, be self-directed, fluency in a second language, and most of all loving and responsible.
The schedule will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2:30-6:30pm and Tuesday and Thursday 8am-6pm. Flexibility to provide 4-8 hours a week of coverage in the evenings, along with weekend and travel is appreciated.
Positive references are a must.
