A laid-back, collaborative family is excited to escape NYC to spend the next year in Weston, MA with their almost 2-year-old and 3-month-old children, and they are seeking a warm, positive, toddler-savvy nanny to join them!
This down-to-earth and warm family is looking forward to embracing a collaborative partner in their nanny in order to work together to provide an enriching, fun-filled environment for their children. The family will be spending the next year in a suburb outside of Boston in order to have more room for safe, fun, and intellectually stimulating activities. They have rented a large, spacious home that has a large backyard lawn with a swing set, outdoor patio, and outdoor grill and furniture. Weston is filled with wooded areas, nature preserves, lakes, walking trails, parks, etc., and the home also has a dedicated playroom and large carpeted basement for winter indoor play. The family is taking COVID seriously and is seeking a nanny partner who shares their same approach to and level of precautions regarding COVID.
Their 2-year-old is bright and growing increasingly independent; she is very verbal and outgoing! Most importantly, the family is looking for a partner who can be especially involved in the 2-year-old’s daily life and development journey. Both parents will be at home. Dad will be working full time from a home office and mom looks forward to tag-teaming the day-to-day, while still valuing the importance of space and autonomy for their nanny. Mom anticipates being the primary caregiver for the infant, as she is exclusively breastfeeding, although she will at times need help with both kids, and at other times will want help with the infant instead of 2-year-old. Mom may start working part-time remotely in early 2021, but this is still to be decided.
This position is ideal for a candidate who would enjoy feeling like a welcomed, integral part of this informal and loving family’s home! A candidate who has a collaborative spirit and has an overall positive outlook will feel right at home in this role. The family deeply values the Montessori method and is prioritizing fostering independence, resilience and self-confidence in their children (while still making them feel effusively warmly loved!) A candidate with prior infant and toddler Montessori experience would be a dream come true for this family, but at the minimum they are looking to work with someone who is intellectually curious, interested in ongoing learning and dialogue about child development approaches, and who has some appreciation for and willingness to learn more about the Montessori method and principles. They would love to work with a candidate who is a warm, positive, and fun playmate to their children while still able to lovingly enforce boundaries. Healthy eating habits are also important to this family, for their children in particular, so they are seeking a nanny who can help to cultivate this.
This is a full-time, live-in position guaranteeing 40-50hrs/week. The general schedule will fall on Mondays through Fridays with working hours between 8am to 6pm. Flexibility for weekends, evenings, and overnights may be asked and appreciated with advance notice. Live-in accommodations include a private bedroom in a separate wing of the family’s home. The family is offering $30-$35+/hour depending on experience and are happy to discuss additional benefits including relocation assistance, assistance with healthcare, and PTO. The position will begin as soon as they find the right person! They are seeking a 1-year commitment with the potential to extend.
This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US, possess a valid driver’s license, and have experience working with infants and toddlers. This family is happy to consider relocation candidates for this position.
