National Nanny Recognition Week lands on the 4th week of September every year, and it is a wonderful opportunity for families + agencies to take a moment to show some gratitude to the real heroes of our industry, the extraordinary caretakers!
Perhaps you’ve never heard of National Nanny Recognition Week, but your nanny has inconspicuously shared this blog post online, and now you’re curious about how you can be involved. Well, we’ve got some great ideas to get you started, but the basic premise is this: your nanny is lovingly + consistently supporting, nurturing, teaching, and caring for your little ones and this is the week to let them know how much you appreciate all that they do!
1. Tokens Of Appreciation
Consider picking up some of your nanny’s personal favorite treats to surprise them with throughout the week. One family created an entire Nanny Advent Calendar where the kids painted their own nanny celebration calendar and each child got to award the nanny with a special gift each day of nanny recognition week. They surprised their nanny daily with little treats like her favorite coffee drink, a small gift card, a bath bomb, etc. This got the entire family involved in the week, and made everyone more aware of expressing gratitude towards their awesome nanny!
2. DIY Treasures
If you’ve got crafty kids, have them each create a special note or drawing for their dear nanny. Your little ones are SO loved by your nanny that these personalized love notes will truly mean the world. Be sure to have each child sign and date their masterpieces!
3. The Gift Of Learning
Your nanny is not only passionate about your children, but they are likely very interested in learning all that there is to know about the growth and development of all children. Offering continued education for your nanny is an incredible investment in their professional development and such a valuable way to show them how much you appreciate them. 4. Say It With Words
One of the most meaningful ways that you can show your nanny that you appreciate and value them is to simply tell them. Find a lovely bit of stationary and express how much they’ve added to your family, the lives of your children, and be sure to outright thank them. This straightforward and simple act is so quick and easy, but it is also so easy to get busy enough with life that we forget to really say what we mean to the people that add so much to our daily lives. A quick note of appreciation will be so cherished by your nanny!
