November Candidate Spotlight – Bianca!

Adventure Nannies is excited to share our most recent Candidate Spotlight! We are so thrilled to know a network of incredible caregivers, teachers, family supporters, and adventurers, and want to make sure we take a moment to shine a light on their hard work and dedication.

Bianca is a devoted caregiver with a diverse background of experience, including working as a nanny, household manager, and mental health behavior specialist, and graduating with a degree in psychology; not to mention she’s a lover of muscle and sports cars! From biking 80 miles across state lines to her commitment to community involvement, Bianca gives her all in everything she does.

Bianca has a passion for working with children with special needs and is a hardworking advocate in the deaf community. After losing her hearing at a young age, Bianca proudly wears a cochlear implant, which helps her navigate a world filled with sound, and her experience has inspired her to teach children to embrace themselves for who they really are. She is fluent in ASL and has a rich background of passionately supporting children with hearing challenges. In her spare time, Bianca enjoys a relaxing ride on her fixie road bike and planning her future garage full of her dream cars. We love Bianca’s fearless spirit and passion for caretaking!

In Bianca’s words, “I love the ability to be an integral part of a child’s development. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child grow and progress while in my care. The fact that I am with the child for a significant amount of the day makes me realize how much a caregiver’s influence can impact a child’s life. It is a huge responsibility, but also an honor and a privilege.”

What are you into right now?
Right now I am into muscle and sport cars and always have been since I was a child as a hobby. I always dreamed of becoming a mechanic and/or a professional stunt driver. Never had a problem getting my hands dirty and looking at what’s under the hood. I love the sound of powerful horsepower engines, they oddly calm me rather than the opposite. Near future, my goal is to build my own car garage. My lifelong dream is to one day own a black Audi RS7, metallic silver 1968 Dodge Charger R/T, and a burgundy/dark cherry 1967 Ford Bronco as a start of my collection.

What are your favorite de-stressing self-care routines that are accessible for any budget?
I love riding my road bicycle. It is a pure white road bicycle known as a fixie (singular gear). I often ride throughout the city and trails, either by myself or with my family. It is incredibly relaxing and within my budget.

What is one piece of life advice you hold dear?
To always believe in trying anything in life no matter the obstacles and opportunities that could be presented. You never know unless you try, right?

What advice would you give to other nannies for staying calm and collected while working during a pandemic?
I encourage anyone to do activities that bring peace to mind that’ll divert them from further stress and dilemmas. To know that everything will be alright and it will get better, we just have to have faith and hold on.

What song(s) are currently on your most-played playlist?
I’m in Love by Ginuwine, Don’t Take Your Love Away by Avant, Didn’t Cha Know by Erykah Badu, Mama Knew Love by Anthony Hamilton, Thinkin’ Bout You by Frank Ocean, I Wanna Know by Joe, They Don’t Know by Jon B, Miss You by Aaliyah, Beauty by Dru Hill, Missing You by Case, Funny by Gerald LeVert.

Is there anything else you’d like us to know?
I am a strong woman who has come a long way, struggled over the years with obstacles and challenges I had to face. Being deaf/hard of hearing was a blessing as it shaped and molded who I am today. I was born hearing and suddenly became deaf at the age of 2, due to complications of Pneumococcal Meningitis. Now I proudly wear a cochlear implant that helps me survive in this world filled with words and sounds. Being a walking miracle and having a second chance to live my life to the fullest has been a blessing for me. With that being said, I would love to continue to teach and share with children to learn to work hard and embrace themselves for who they are.
