Household dynamic:

  • This active, forward-thinking family of three is seeking a private educator to thoughtfully support the early learning and development of their bright 3-year-old daughter. Naturally curious and eager to explore, she already demonstrates strong early literacy and numeracy skills, including phonetic alphabet recognition and number awareness. The family is excited to provide her with a rich, engaging foundation that supports her growth ahead of the curve and prepares her for a smooth transition into traditional schooling. She thrives in hands-on, movement-based learning and enjoys activities such as soccer and gymnastics, along with a wide range of interests, including animals, science, the outdoors, reading, sports, music, space, and arts and crafts. This role will guide her homeschooling and pre-academic learning journey until she transitions into public school. The family speaks both English and Arabic at home.
  • This organized, globally minded household is led by two high-performing professionals who place a strong value on learning, growth, and resilience, and are intentional about instilling those qualities in their daughter. The family prioritizes movement and physical activity and is actively engaged in their communities. They travel for several weeks throughout the year. Having spent the past three years as a family of three, they are excited to welcome an educator who can grow alongside them as their family evolves.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a warm, creative, adaptable, and confident private educator who is passionate about fostering independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. The family is seeking someone who brings positive energy while thoughtfully balancing structure and flexibility throughout the day. The ideal candidate will create an interactive, engaging learning environment that supports their daughter’s continued growth and development. A strong background in early childhood education is essential, with a solid understanding of early literacy and math development. As part of the interview process, candidates are expected to design and present age-appropriate reading and math lesson plans and clearly articulate their instructional approach, including how they would structure, adapt, and assess lessons over time. A hands-on, play-based approach that encourages independence and curiosity is highly valued.
  • The private educator will design and lead learning sessions that integrate reading, writing, math, arts and crafts, and movement to ensure the child is well prepared for a future transition into a traditional school setting. This role is well-suited for an on-the-go educator who can thoughtfully plan lessons aligned with developmental goals while remaining flexible within the family’s bicoastal lifestyle. The family values a well-regulated, collaborative, and upbeat educator with a clear teaching philosophy and calm, steady presence. Their daughter responds best to kind, encouraging individuals, making a gentle demeanor and confident leadership essential. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, trustworthy, and able to support the child with ease amid a busy household rhythm.
  • Responsibilities include developing and implementing a personalized early-learning curriculum with an emphasis on reading, writing, math, arts, crafts, and physical activity; supporting the child’s independence and confidence; and creating a daily rhythm that balances academics, play, and rest. The private educator will partner closely with the parents to align on learning goals, drive the child to and from activities as needed, travel with the family throughout the year, and support child-related responsibilities.
  • While not required, the family would welcome a candidate who speaks a second language—particularly Mandarin, Arabic, or Spanish—and/or someone open to light family-assisting support.

  • At least 3 years of professional teaching experience in a classroom or homeschool setting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Willing to support driving to/from activities
  • Ability to travel with the family throughout the year
