This active, well-organized family on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking a professional, adaptable, and team-oriented rotational nanny to provide attuned and nurturing care for their spirited 6-year-old and sweet 4-year-old in a fully staffed home.
- Location: Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York, with summer travel to the Hamptons.
- Ages of children: 4 and 6 years old
- Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, rotational schedule of 1 week on/1 week off. Candidates will be on call 24/7, and specifically can expect to work at a minimum between the hours of 6:30am and 7:30pm. The family will communicate about specific weekly hours in advance. Flexibility for travel during the rotation will be key for the right candidate, including summers in the Hamptons!
- Compensation: The family is offering an hourly and overtime rate equivalent to an annualized base compensation of $125k/year, dependent on candidate experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits, including paid holidays, e.g., Christmas and Thanksgiving, a $350/month health insurance reimbursement, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-in while on rotation.
Household dynamic:
- This loving, organized, fully-staffed home on the Upper East Side is seeking a professional rotational nanny to join their collaborative team. Their 6-year-old son has ADHD and would benefit from a nanny who is experienced in supporting sensory needs and implementing thoughtful, responsive strategies. He responds best to firm, clear communication and a caregiver who can read him well. Their 4-year-old is a genuinely sweet boy with remarkably high emotional intelligence and a warm, social nature. The family feels he is ready to be pushed a little more academically and would benefit from a nanny who gently holds him to it. Both boys attend school during the week and love cars, parks, and active play.
- This is a happy, loving household with a cooperative, team-based approach to everything and no tolerance for tension or drama. Mom is highly involved and sets the tone at home. This is a fully-staffed home where their full-time household manager runs the overall staff operation and is the nanny’s primary point of contact. The household team includes a household manager, a housekeeper, a part-time chef, part-time driver, and three full-time nannies, as well as a potential live-out nanny to provide afternoon coverage. The nanny will collaborate with the family and the household team - pitching in, communicating proactively, and working collaboratively. From July to August, the family spends the summer at their Hamptons home, and they expect the nanny to join and support them there. Additional travel includes a week-long winter holiday, a spring break trip of about 10 days, and one week in the summer for a family reunion in South Carolina.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a professional, grounded, and highly adaptable rotational nanny who genuinely loves their work, is excited to support two growing children, and thrives in a fast-paced, fully staffed household. The family values someone who has knowledge and experience supporting children with sensory needs, particularly being attuned to their needs and knowing when to redirect and when to ease off. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure and confident in structure. Someone who can hold firm and clear expectations with their older son while giving their younger son the gentle, consistent push he needs to grow will be a great fit! Strong communication skills are essential. The family would love to work with a candidate who is an excellent communicator and can provide feedback regarding the role or the children’s needs. A resourceful and unflappable rotational nanny who can manage the family’s dynamic rhythm will be an excellent addition to the team. The right candidate is team-minded and communicates proactively with the household manager and other staff, pitching in with a collaborative spirit and checking outside stress at the door. The family is seeking a reliable, career nanny who is eager to join their organized, collaborative home.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of professional childcare experience
- Able to swim and care for children in water
- Experience working in a team or a fully-staffed environment
- Knowledgeable and confident in supporting children with ADD/ADHD
- Valid passport
- Ability to live-in while on duty and live-out while off duty
- Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
