Household dynamic:
- These kind, fun-loving, and hardworking parents just welcomed their firstborn and are seeking an infant-savvy rotational nanny/family assistant to care for their sweet 2-month-old daughter. They are looking for a long-term fit that can stay in the role as they grow their family. This home also includes a beloved cat.
- The family would love someone who is passionate about child development, proactive in planning age-appropriate activities, and has expert guidance from the newborn stage through toddlerhood. Mom will be breastfeeding, so the family will value someone who can thoughtfully support this exciting journey.
- These loving parents met in graduate school and have been living in San Francisco since 2020 while both building careers in tech. Their family dynamic centers around kindness, humor, ambition, healthy living, and their daughter. They describe themselves as laid-back people who value warmth, loyalty, and excellence. At home, they speak English and Hindi. This household is currently supported by a night newborn care specialist, weekly cleaners, and a weekly cook. The family travels for a few weeks throughout the year to major domestic cities and would appreciate a nanny/family assistant who is comfortable joining them. While childcare will always remain the priority, the family would greatly appreciate a candidate who is happy to step into family assistance, especially when the children are in school.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a warm, experienced, professional career rotational nanny/family assistant who is truly passionate about supporting newborn, infant, and toddler growth and development. The family has a thoughtful, open approach to parenting and is happy to explore different philosophies. They are looking for someone knowledgeable who has extensive hands-on experience caring for young children from infancy to the toddler stage, bringing calm, grounded confidence, and providing expert, thoughtful guidance while being collaborative and attuned to the parents’ preferences. A candidate who genuinely enjoys engaging infants and toddlers through thoughtful, developmentally appropriate enrichment activities and who is naturally curious about how children learn and experience the world will be a wonderful fit.
- The ideal candidate is nurturing, emotionally intuitive, proactive, and deeply invested in building meaningful, lasting bonds with the children they care for. The family hopes to find someone who approaches nannying as far more than just a job - someone who is excited to become a long-term partner to the family and who brings warmth, positivity, professionalism, and genuine passion for infant care into the home each day.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, planning and facilitating age-appropriate child activities, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, occasional errands, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties are running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Hindi, has a higher education or a degree in child development, newborn care specialist experience, and has longevity with previous families.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional childcare experience
- Recent newborn care experience (under 3 months old) within the last 5 years
- Knowledge and proven experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for newborns, infants, and toddlers
- ROTA experience
- Valid driver's license
- Valid passport
- Travel experience
- Cat friendly
- Willingness to pitch in with family-assisting tasks
- Ability to live-in while on duty and live-out while off duty
- Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
