Household Dynamic:
- This adventurous, travel-loving family is seeking a nanny to support them on this exciting transition as they relocate from New Orleans to New York City while also traveling to several cities in between. The family has an affectionate, very energetic 14-month-old toddler who thrives with engaged care. The family practices responsive and attachment parenting and prioritizes maintaining a calm home environment. Their little one enjoys being held close throughout the day, takes contact naps and stroller naps, currently breastfeeds, and sleeps with both parents. The nanny will provide attentive care while the parents step out, including evening coverage, offering snuggles and gentle engagement. The family hopes to work with someone who can facilitate play with their child and be a comforting, steady presence for him.
- The family leads a spontaneous and travel-heavy lifestyle, traveling frequently for both work and leisure during the contract. Trips may be planned or occasionally happen on short notice, and the family appreciates someone who can be an adaptable support as plans evolve. The nanny will join the family on select trips and help support the family’s transition to their new home in NYC while maintaining a calm, grounded presence for their child during this time.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a calm, gentle, and grounded nanny who brings a nurturing presence who aligns with the family’s responsive, attachment parenting approach. The family is seeking a kind and caring candidate who can provide a present, engaging childcare approach while fostering a calm environment for both the child and the family. Their toddler has a lot of energy, and the family would love to work with someone who can keep up with him. The ideal candidate should be willing to move around the room, playing games like tag or hide-and-seek, dancing, jumping, and engaging in high-energy activities when he is playful. A creative, resourceful, hands-on nanny who finds joy in engaging with children, whether through warm snuggles or trips to the park, will be a wonderful fit. The family will highly value a candidate who can facilitate interactive, age-appropriate activities for their little one. Since the family will travel frequently and relocate to their new primary home in New York City, the ideal candidate is someone adaptable and travel-ready to support the family during their adventures, and this exciting family transition.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the contract.
