Household dynamic:

  • This social, outdoorsy family is seeking a family assistant/household manager to bring ease, organization, and steady support to their dynamic home. With two bright, growing sons, ages 2 and 4 years old, and a new baby arriving this winter, their home is lively, loving, and full of life. Their children are described by their parents as intellectual, curious, yet delightfully opposite. One is sensitive and slower to act, while the other is embodied, bold, and full of energy. Their oldest, currently attending transitional kindergarten from Monday through Thursday, has some challenges with food and benefits from a patient and compassionate presence and support at home.
  • Nestled on 50 forested acres with a pond and lake access, the family loves spending time outdoors and finds joy in nature! Their home is lively and active, often filled with extended family visiting. This is a dual-career home where both parents run their businesses, maintaining full schedules as they balance work and family responsibilities. Grandpa also lives with them and is a regular presence at home. They have a dynamic home and would be happy to have someone comfortable in a close-knit, multi-generational environment. Additionally, the family travels internationally every other year for a few weeks. A full-time nanny and house cleaner also support this vibrant household.

Ideal Candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a grounded, confident, proactive family assistant/household manager who enjoys supporting a lively, fast-paced household and is ready to bring steady support while wearing many hats. The ideal candidate is someone who excels in a variety of household management tasks, takes initiative naturally, and has a see-the-need, fill-the-need mentality in their role. With both parents running their businesses, the ideal candidate will possess a high-executive mindset - someone who is confident, efficient, and willing to take on executive assistant responsibilities when needed. Daily responsibilities include maintaining the household operations smoothly and ensuring the home is consistently stocked and organized. The family is looking for a candidate who is independent, self-motivated, and confident in taking ownership of their role once established, making decisions without constant direction..
  • While not a childcare-focused role, the family will value a warm, kid-friendly family assistant/household manager who can naturally engage with the children and step in occasionally when their nanny is away- helping with pickups, drops-offs, or lending a hand at home. With three young children, the family also appreciates help with clothing cycles and storage systems. A highly organized candidate who can help them shift the house seasonally as needed and create simple, sustainable systems for passing down clothes and organization systems for the family’s garage/workshop.
  • The family loves to host parties and get together at home, and event support will be essential for this role. They throw one large party and small gatherings throughout the year, so someone who enjoys coordinating logistics, arranging catering, or meal prep will be a wonderful fit. Since the family travels periodically, they would love someone they can trust to take care of their home and care for their sweet cat while they are away. A competent family assistant/household manager who can seamlessly integrate into the family’s routine while providing steady support in a busy, loving home, while maintaining thoughtful systems that contribute to the family’s well-being, will be a wonderful addition to the team. A total jack of all trades type of candidate who is eager to step into all facets of the family’s life will thrive in this role.
  • The role will involve a wide range of tasks to keep the household running smoothly and efficiently. Candidate responsibilities include managing laundry, running errands, meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, keeping household supplies, and preparing guest rooms and bathrooms. The family assistant/ household manager will coordinate seasonal home transitions, manage calls and appointment scheduling, oversee household vendors and contractors, handle returns and light reselling, and maintain organization systems for children’s clothing and household spaces. Event support will include coordinating vendors and logistics for the family’s annual party and small gatherings throughout the year. Additional responsibilities include light executive assistant support for both parents, occasional childcare, and managing the family calendar.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Family assisting/ household management experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable driving in ice and snow
  • Able to work with a cat and provide pet care
