Household dynamic:

  • This fun, loving, and adventurous family is seeking a true partner to care for their active, curious, adventure-seeking 4-year-old son! Their kiddo attends preschool throughout the week and loves being outside, playing sports, swimming, exploring new activities, visiting libraries, reading books, and going on all kinds of adventures. The family's older children (in high school) have a wonderful relationship with their younger sibling, although each has busy schedules filled with school and sports commitments. The family hopes to work with a candidate who can plan and coordinate enriching activities and provide a loving, engaging, and adventure-filled caregiving approach where their son can truly thrive and develop.
  • The family describes themselves as hands-on and committed to being present with their children. They value a collaborative environment at home with one parent often around with their son and the nanny for portions of the weekend. The family also leads an active, health-conscious lifestyle centered around sports, travel, outdoor exploration, and quality time together. The family spends about five weeks of each summer at their second home in the country (during which the nannies rotate on an agreed schedule - with hours guarantees in place). Throughout the year, they also enjoy trips to fun, warm destinations and other weekend adventures. A house manager, a housekeeper, and a weekday nanny support this organized household. The family would value someone who enjoys helping with healthy meal preparation and fostering a warm, authentic, team-oriented atmosphere in their home.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for an engaging, proactive, self-confident nanny who is excited to keep up with an active, outdoorsy kiddo who thrives on adventure and movement! The family is looking for a confident and resourceful candidate who naturally seeks out fun experiences around the city, enjoys planning spontaneous weekend outings, and loves engaging children through outdoor play, sports, bike rides, swimming, library visits, and hands-on adventures. Their ideal nanny is perceptive, grounded, and adaptable to the family’s weekend rhythm, balancing structure with creativity while finding enriching ways for their son to explore and enjoy the world around him. A candidate who is excited to spend vibrant summers with the family, values the family’s active and healthy lifestyle, and genuinely enjoys supporting and caring for children outdoors or in an enriching, interactive environment will thrive in this role. This role is also perfect for a collaborative nanny who is confident working in a team environment and is a consistent presence in supporting a smooth flow in their home.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, child's laundry, ocassional (child-centered) errands before and after-school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has family assisting experience and is open to cooking for the whole family.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Travel experience
  • Able to swim and care for children in water
  • Experience working in a team or a fully-staffed environment
  • A safe, reliable personal car for transporting the child
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Valid passport
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
