Household dynamic:
- This calm, organized, and peaceful Seattle household, led by a single Mom by choice, is excited to welcome a dedicated nanny/family assistant to care for her happy 3.5-month-old baby! The little one sleeps well and is settling into the gentle rhythms and routines of infancy. The mom values a tidy, structured, and nurturing home environment where the baby can grow and thrive with consistency, warmth, and attentive care. A sweet family cat also shares the home, though no pet care will be required.
- Balancing a demanding professional career with the meaningful transition into parenthood, this dedicated mom is looking for a steady, trusted caregiver who can offer both exceptional infant care and thoughtful, collaborative support. She values resourcefulness, organization, and a peaceful home atmosphere, and hopes to find someone who can confidently take ownership of the baby's day-to-day care while remaining sensitive to their evolving needs. Located in a vibrant, highly walkable community within walking distance of both the waterfront and university, the home offers the perfect setting for daily fresh air, walks, and outdoor adventures. While mom generally plans to handle overnight care, occasional evening or overnight support may be requested, including for weekend trips or domestic travel. She hopes to find someone who can step in as a steady, trusted part of the home.
Ideal candidate:
- The position is ideal for a highly experienced, calm, gentle, and grounded career nanny/family assistant who brings a warm, maternal, and intuitive approach to infant care. This person will be exceptionally capable and confident in caring for young infants, with a strong understanding of developmental milestones, age-appropriate routines, and the importance of consistency during these early months. Naturally organized, tidy, and resourceful, the right candidate will enjoy creating a peaceful, structured environment while thoughtfully supporting the baby's growth and development. The mom will especially appreciate an attuned, engaging, and adaptable professional who can independently manage the baby's day with minimal direction, anticipate needs, and take genuine ownership of their responsibilities.
- Equally important for this role are high emotional intelligence, empathy, and intuitive boundaries. This is a tender, meaningful season, and the mother would love to welcome someone who can support a first-time parent navigating the transition into motherhood—offering steady reassurance without being overbearing. A perceptive, discreet nanny/family assistant who knows when to step in with initiative and when to give quiet space will thrive here. Candidates with personal or professional experience supporting sensitive life transitions will be especially well-suited, and the family hopes to build a trusting, lasting relationship with the right partner.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children's areas, occasional errands, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year, including occasional overnights for weekend trips or domestic vacations. When time allows, family assisting duties may include light household organization, errands, light meal planning, and preparation for the family.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has the following:
- Doula training or experience supporting moms through postpartum transitions
- Experience working with families navigating emotionally sensitive dynamics
- 10+ years of professional childcare experience
- Second language knowledge
- College degree
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Comfort with preparing meals for the entire family
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants
- Proven Infant experience
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight
- Willingness to perform family assistant tasks when time allows
- Open to occasional overnights when needed
- Familiarity with the PNW climate — comfortable with rain, loves the outdoors, has lived in similar climates
- Valid driver's license
- Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
- A Note on Health & Safety Requirements: To protect their household, the hiring family requires candidates to provide proof of all standard vaccinations (MMR, Tdap, Flu)] before scheduling an in-person trial or finalizing a job offer (subject to applicable laws and required accommodations). Because this is a private family requirement, any relevant records will be requested and reviewed by the family directly. Adventure Nannies does not collect, review, or screen candidates for vaccination status.
This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US.
