This close-knit, on-the-go family in Seattle, WA is seeking a warm and engaging nanny to provide thoughtful, steady guidance for their two bright, creative teenagers.

• Location: Montlake, Seattle, WA
• Ages of children: 14 and 15 years old
• Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time role guaranteeing 50 hours per week. The regular schedule will be 35 hours per week: 3pm-10pm Monday-Friday. The additional guaranteed hours are built in to provide weekend and overnight support, planned in advance whenever possible but at times on short notice. The nanny will also need to be available to provide sole-charge care for approximately 4-7 days at a time while Mom undergoes inpatient chemotherapy.
• Compensation: The family is offering $40-45/hour based on the 50-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $114,400-$128,700/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-out, with the ability to work overnights as requested by family.
• Other Notes: The family prefers local candidates but is open to relocation candidates. They are offering relocation assistance to candidates who would be moving to Seattle for this role.

• This warm, close-knit family consists of a loving, down-to-earth mom and her two bright, curious teenagers! Their 14-year-old son, who is heading into 8th grade, is a natural builder and tinkerer who can happily take things apart and figure them out, from Legos to BMX bikes to a hovercraft made from a leaf blower. He is also navigating an eating disorder and benefits from consistent support around food and mealtimes. The nanny will be expected to comfortably follow the family’s established guidance and routines around meals. Their 15-year-old, heading into 10th grade, is creative and independent. She loves to read, play piano, sing, and is a competitive swimmer. She also has a natural connection with young children and enjoys working as an assistant coach and summer camp counselor. Both children attend an arts and science school and have full lives that include academics, sports, arts, and time with their extended family.  They are smart and capable students who benefit from thoughtful executive-functioning support, particularly around slowing down, breaking assignments into manageable steps, and following through with care. Their son tends to benefit from more hands-on support, while their daughter is increasingly independent but appreciates someone who can notice when she may need an extra nudge, reminder, or helping hand.
• This is a family-oriented household with extended family living close by. The families often plan long shared meals, activities, and day-to-day outings together, creating a sense of community and connection. Mom is currently undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis. Her treatment includes inpatient chemotherapy at a local hospital, during which the nanny will step into a sole-charge role for approximately 4-7 consecutive days at a time. There may also be occasions when an unexpected hospital visit requires additional coverage. Maintaining stability, normalcy, and consistency for the children throughout this season is incredibly important to the family. Their household is supported, including a chef, and the nanny will be part of a collaborative environment where the priority is being present and engaged with the kids. This is an active family that loves to get up, get out, and do things! The son has been struggling with a resurgence of an eating disorder since his mom’s diagnosis and benefits from extra attention and reminders to eat meals. The family hopes to find someone who can become a steady, trusted presence in the children's lives.

• Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children's areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, homework and executive-functioning support, coordinating activities and sports, driving the children as needed, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience and/or knowledge supporting kids with ADHD and different learning styles.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Knowledge and experience working with teenagers
• Valid driver's license
• Tutoring and/or homework experience
• Ability to swim and care for children in water
• Bachelor's degree
• Comfortable providing sole-charge care for approximately 4-7 days at a time when Mom undergoes inpatient chemotherapy
• Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
