This warm, loving family in Upper East Side, NY is seeking an intuitive, professional, engaging rotational nanny to support their bright, curious 5.5-year-old daughter with thoughtful, hands-on care and meaningful engagement.

• Location: Upper East Side, New York, NY
• Ages of children: 5.5 years old
• Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time rotational schedule of 7 days on / 7 days off, with the nanny on-call for all 168 hours of each shift. Primary coverage falls in the mornings and evenings, with a natural break during school hours (approximately 8:00 AM–3:00/4:00 PM), during which light childcare-related tasks such as children’s laundry may be expected. The nanny is expected to cover any snow days, sick days, or in-service days that fall within the work week; occasional 8–9 day rotations may occur, with balancing days off or additional pay for the extended coverage to be built into the agreement.
• Compensation: The family is offering an hourly and overtime rate equivalent to an annualized base compensation of $130k–$160k/year dependent on candidate experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and a monthly public transportation pass.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-in while on rotation, live-out while off rotation. The nanny is expected to maintain their own separate residence within a commutable distance of New York and be out of the home during off weeks.
• Other Notes: The family is only open to candidates who live within a weekly commutable distance of NYC.

• This adventurous, globally-minded New York family is seeking a rotational nanny to support their spirited 5.5-year-old daughter! Bright, funny, curious, and high-energy, she is starting kindergarten in the fall and loves to learn and stay engaged through play and activities, including dance and musical theater. She is sweet and well-behaved while also being strong-willed, and will thrive with a caregiver who enjoys genuinely playing with her, anticipates her needs, maintains thoughtful and consistent supervision, and confidently provides age-appropriate boundaries and guidance.
• The parents maintain a flexible co-parenting relationship and may occasionally swap custody days and hope to find someone who can approach these occasional adjustments collaboratively, with balancing days off or additional compensation arranged for extended coverage. Travel and flexibility are also meaningful parts of this family’s lifestyle. Mom travels frequently, roughly 8 to 12 weeks a year, with frequent international trips and significant time spent on boats and on the sea! She would love the freedom to bring her daughter and rotational nanny along.  This is a fully-staffed, high-discretion household.

• This position is ideal for a confident, engaging, and intuitive rotational nanny who brings warmth, structure, and excellent judgment to each day. The ideal candidate will genuinely enjoy getting on the floor to play, coming up with activities, joining in imaginative games, and keeping a curious five-year-old meaningfully engaged. Someone who has strong situational awareness and naturally keeps track of their charge without needing reminders or direction. A calm and assured caregiver who can lovingly hold boundaries, redirect when needed, and serve as a steady authority figure will be a wonderful fit.
• This role is especially well suited to a polished, discreet professional who can support maintaining the family’s privacy at all times and maintains a minimal online presence. The family values an adaptable nanny who reads the room and social and hosting environment naturally, communicates well with other staff, and executes clean handoffs. Since traveling and spending time on boats is central to the family, a travel-ready, excellent swimmer who is comfortable caring for and supervising children in the water will be a great fit. They hope to welcome someone who views nannying as a serious long-term career and is excited to become a trusted, consistent presence as their daughter grows.
• Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, laundry, organizing the child's areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, packing for travel, and traveling with the family throughout the year. The household keeps kosher as best they can, so someone who is comfortable and knowledgeable with preparing kid-friendly Kosher meals will be key.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience supporting only children with active engagement and creative play, and has prior experience in high-attention environments.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Valid passport
• Experience traveling with families and children, including international destinations
• Ability to travel with the family throughout the year
• Experienced swimmer and able to swim and care for children in and around water
• Experience working in a team or fully-staffed household environment
• Actively engaged caregiver with strong situational awareness — able to maintain consistent supervision, play with the child, and read social and hosting environments without prompting
• ROTA experience
• Comfortable with a 7-on/7-off rotation and occasional 8–9 day shifts during custody swaps
• Ability to live-in while on rotation and live-out while off rotation
• Local or within a weekly commutable distance of the Upper East Side, New York City
• Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
