Ellington, CT

Our Commitment to Inclusivity & Accessibility:

Nanny Camp is built on the foundation that every nanny belongs. Our mission is to create an enriching and supportive environment where nannies from all backgrounds can learn, grow, and connect. We understand that financial considerations can be a barrier for some, and our scholarship program is designed to directly address this.

With the support of our sponsors, who are pivotal in this mission, we are able to offer scholarships to ensure that Nanny Camp 2025 is a truly accessible and diverse gathering. This program provides opportunities for professional networking and personal growth by removing financial obstacles.

What a Scholarship Provides:

A Nanny Camp scholarship covers your full camp registration, which includes your lodging (cabin or tent spot), all meals, and full access to all core camp activities, workshops, and community events. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive camp experience.

(Please note: Transportation to and from camp, as well as any personal incidentals or optional purchases at camp, are typically the responsibility of the camper and are not included in the scholarship.)

Who is Encouraged to Apply?

If you are a nanny who is passionate about your profession, eager to connect with a diverse community of peers, and would benefit from financial support to attend Nanny Camp, we strongly encourage you to apply. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about contributing to and benefiting from our inclusive camp atmosphere, and who align with our core values of community, adventure, and growth. Our scholarship selection is led by our Community Advisory Commitee and driven by our commitment to equitable opportunity.

Honoring the Land

Land Acknowledgment

As we gather for Nanny Camp 2025 at SJ Riding Camp in Ellington, Connecticut, we acknowledge that this land has a deep and enduring connection with the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded it for centuries. This area is the traditional, ancestral homeland of the Podunk and Wangunk tribes, who are part of the Algonquian-speaking peoples.

The Podunk and Wangunk communities lived along the fertile banks of the Connecticut River, practicing sustainable agriculture, hunting, and fishing, and maintained a harmonious relationship with the land, water, and natural resources. Their legacy of environmental stewardship and community care continues to inspire us.

We honor their past and present descendants and express our gratitude for the privilege to gather, learn, and connect on these lands. We commit to respecting the ongoing relationship between Indigenous peoples and the land, and we recognize the history and culture that have shaped this region.

As we enjoy this beautiful space, we encourage everyone to reflect on the significance of this land and our responsibility to honor its past, present, and future caretakers.

What Our 2024 Campers Had To Say...

Nanny camp was the most supporting and affirming space that I had ever been in. As a queer and autistic nanny, l often feel like there is no space for me to have community. Nanny Camp changed that. I was welcomed with open arms and supported by other people who have had similar experiences. I am so looking forward to being in that space again!

I am so so so overjoyed about camp.

It exceeded every expectation I had.

People found their niche, in a warm welcoming environment that made space for everyone.

I was nervous to come to camp not knowing anyone but left meeting some AMAZING people, having made some incredible memories, and I found a beautiful community to lean on.

Nanny Camp changed my life forever, I met new friends who I’ll cherish for the rest of my life and I learned how to love myself unapologetically over the weekend. Thank you to Reagan and Shenandoah for providing the space for us to come be ourselves so safely and to connect with people like us, I will be back every year to feel the love and connection I did at Nanny Camp 2024.
