Austin | Professional Nanny/Family Assistant Wanted For Vibrant Texas Family

This vibrant and culturally grounded Austin family of four is seeking an engaging nanny/family assistant to support their spirited boys, ages 8 and 10, with warmth and consistency.

• Location: Austin, Texas
• Ages of children: 8 and 10 years old
• Start date: January 2026
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week, with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 1:00pm to 9:00pm.
• Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $73-$83k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience and/or those requiring relocation.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.

• This vibrant, culturally grounded, and respectful family of four based in Austin is seeking a nanny/family assistant to nurture their two spirited boys, ages 8 and 10, and support the family’s dynamic household. They are both confident, outspoken, jolly, and comfortable with who they are. Both kids are passionate about sports, including basketball, love listening to music, and are academically engaged. They have recently taken an interest in learning Mandarin. The family has raised their children to respect everyone and believes in children taking responsibility, whether it’s making their beds and preparing their bags for the next day. The family has had wonderful relationships with their past nannies and has built strong bonds with caregivers who brought positive energy and a “big-sibling” dynamic into their lives.
• This is a dual-career household where both parents are busy and career-driven professionals. They describe themselves as assertive, introverted, and jovial. They lead with structure, discipline, and warmth. Respect, clear communication, and cultural awareness are foundational values in the home. The family also travels for a few weeks throughout the year. They hope to work with a trusted partner who can truly understand and integrate into the family’s household and culture, learn the systems, and bring a sense of stability into their home.

• This position is ideal for a communicative, professional, and emotionally intelligent nanny/family assistant who brings commitment, passion, and care to their work. The family is seeking a fun and engaging nanny/family assistant, and is able to connect with the children on their level, someone who finds joy in their interests and passions, from sports and music to setting up creative incentives and fun outings like ice cream trips or movie nights. The family will greatly appreciate someone confident and comfortable supporting their children’s homework. A candidate who can meet them where they are while maintaining structure and respectful boundaries will thrive in this role. The family values responsibility and would appreciate someone who can model respectful behaviors to their children. They are looking for someone who can read the room, communicate effectively, and respectfully support a home that is both structured and joyful.
• Cultural awareness and emotional intelligence are essential. The right candidate will know how and when to escalate issues, such as something happening at school. Someone who can act as a bridge between parents and children would be a great fit. • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties include family laundry, running errands such as post office runs, managing Amazon returns, doing the dishes, loading the dishwasher, taking out the trash, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks a second language or has an interest in languages. They hope to expose their children to different cultures and believe that language can be a meaningful part of that experience.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Comfortability supporting elementary and middle-school-aged children with homework
• Familiarity and comfortability with basic family assisting tasks (including family laundry, tidying up around the home, and meal prep for the kids
• Valid driver's license
• Flexibility to provide occasional overnight coverage if both parents have to be out
