Chevy Chase, MD | Proactive ROTA Nanny/Family Assistant Wanted For Travel-Loving Family

This travel-loving, collaborative family is seeking a proactive rotational nanny/family assistant to provide engaging, consistent care for their three children while supporting a well-organized, fully staffed household.

• Location: Chevy Chase, MD with extended travel to the Hamptons
• Ages of children: 5 years old, 3 years old, and a newborn
• Start dates: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, rotational schedule of 14 days on/14 days off. Candidates can expect to be on-call 24/7 during their shifts.
• Compensation: The family is offering an hourly rate that equates to an annualized base compensation in the $130k-$180k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-in while on rotation, live-out while off rotation. While in DC, candidates will share a room with a private bed with another on-shift nanny. The room has a private bathroom.
• Local/Relocation: The family is open to candidates who are local or within commuting distance to either the DC metro area or NYC, or candidates who would relocate to one of those major metro areas for the role.

Household dynamic:

• This hardworking and travel-loving family is seeking two rotational nannies/family assistants to join their team in supporting their growing family. They have two older children, 5 and 3, who both attend school full-time. They have also recently welcomed an adorable addition who is being cared for by a newborn care specialist for these early months. The family hopes to build a team who can create a warm, nurturing environment for their children while actively assisting the family in maintaining well-organized homes.
• Both parents have intense work schedules as entrepreneurs and founders of their own companies. They work from home (occasionally from outside offices) and are in and out of the house regularly. They describe themselves as family-centric super hosts who value education, mindfulness, and home-cooked meals! The family also loves to travel. They spend five months at their home in the Hamptons and will make additional trips throughout the year, including an upcoming trip to London. This is a fully-staffed home that values collaboration. Their team, when complete, will consist of three full-time nannies as well as a full-time housekeeper. Mom manages tutors, assistants, and other household staff who frequently come in and out of the home, and the nannies/family assistants will provide support for this. The nannies/family assistants will collaborate closely with the family and the household team.

The ideal candidate brings a see-a-need, fill-a-need mindset to their role and takes pride in being a dependable, true partner to the family. The right candidate is high energy, dedicated, and is comfortable stepping into a family assistant role when the children are at school, taking initiative to keep the household running smoothly without needing constant direction. A steady, calm, and supportive presence is essential. Someone who can help create consistency for the children and seamlessly support the family through transitions, whether adjusting between school routines, travel, or seasonal moves between residences. The family seeks someone happy to roll up their sleeves and assist with the family’s day-to-day tasks, such as cooking, children’s laundry, jumping in to help with dishes, or resetting common spaces.
• A warm, engaging, and playful candidate who can naturally connect with children and can smoothly shift from supporting children's routines to creating fun, meaningful downtime that allows the children to relax and just be kids will be a wonderful addition to the team. An athletic and sporty candidate who is knowledgeable and open to participating in various sports the kids are currently very, very into (such as basketball, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, and other sports) will be highly valued and necessary to connect with them at these ages and stages!
• Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties are running errands, meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, laundry, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar!

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Ability to swim and care for children around water
• Comfortability, knowledge and willingness to participate in various sports such as basketball, lacrosse, field hockey, soccer and other sports
• Previous experience with household management/family assisting tasks, including family laundry, meal prep, and light housekeeping
• Comfortability with sharing a room with other household staff while on rotation
• Able to live-in while on duty and live-out while off duty
• Valid driver's license
• Valid passport
• Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
