Household Dynamic:
- This kind, imaginative, and fun-loving family is seeking a creative, outdoor-loving, and developmentally minded nanny to care for their two delightful children! Their curious and mischievous 10-month-old daughter enjoys being a part of the action. She attends a music class once a week and is very into it. Their 3-year-old son is described by his parents as deeply curious, sensitive, observant, and incredibly smart. He’s recently been interested in all things space and is full of thoughtful questions. He currently attends a Waldorf-inspired school. Both children thrive with consistent routines, engaging activities, and plenty of outdoor time. The children are experiencing developmentally typical emotions of early childhood, and the family is seeking someone who can support them in navigating and processing those emotions in a positive, empathetic way. The nanny will primarily care for their daughter during the day and both children after school. The family is excited to welcome someone who can provide loving, attentive care for their children while actively engaging them in creative and educational activities and outdoor play.
- The family lives beside a wonderful park and is surrounded by many exciting activities in the Mission and Bernal neighborhoods. They value community, cherish playdates, and seek to create a joyful, silly home environment where creativity and outdoor exploration are encouraged. Dad works from home in a separate office space occasionally, and Mom is a full-time, hands-on stay-at-home parent. They are looking for a nanny who thrives in a true tag-team environment and can confidently collaborate with hands-on parents. A candidate who works well with the family and household staff, including a weekly housekeeper/home manager, will be greatly appreciated.
Ideal Candidate
- This position is ideal for a caring, reliable, safety-minded, and toddler-savvy nanny who is excited to nurture two curious, vibrant children! This role is perfect for someone who loves and embraces outdoor adventures, enjoys art and music, and brings creativity to their childcare approach. Someone who can create an age-appropriate and enriching environment for the children while setting clear, consistent, and kind boundaries will be essential! The ideal candidate will bring a strong commitment to maintaining consistent routines, particularly around the children’s naps, bedtime, and meals. They will be excited to work with a hands-on, team-oriented nanny who can communicate effectively about schedules, supplies, and children’s needs. A candidate with a pitch-in mentality, proactively rotating toys and keeping play spaces fresh and engaging, will fit in. The family values communication, reliability, and someone who genuinely enjoys being part of a family's journey. They are excited to partner with a candidate who seeks to grow into the role long-term.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and potentially traveling with the family throughout the year.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate familiar with Waldorf philosophy and/or interested in growing into a family assistant/household manager role.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants through preschool-age children
- Valid driver’s license
- Openness to/experience tag-teaming with a stay-at-home parent
- Standard vaccination (e.g COVID-19, Tdap, and flu)
