Educationally-Minded Nanny Needed For Outdoorsy Nevada City Family

This outdoorsy Nevada City, CA family seeks a warm, educationally-minded Nanny for their 4 and 2-year-old children to foster a love for nature and learning as they grow their family.

• Location: Nevada City, CA
• Ages of children: 4 and 2 years old. The family is also welcoming another baby this winter!
• Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Flexibility to work a slightly altered schedule (same days, with 3 longer days and 2 shorter days) before the family welcomes their third child will be appreciated.
• Compensation: The family is offering $40-45/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $83-93k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. The family has an on-property guest house available as a landing pad for the first few months.

• This social, outdoorsy family is seeking a nurturing and developmentally-minded nanny to care for their two bright, growing sons, ages 2 and 4 years old, and support their growing family as they prepare to welcome their third child! Their children are described by their parents as intellectual, curious, yet delightfully opposite. One is sensitive and slower to act, while the other is embodied, bold, and full of energy. Their oldest, currently attending transitional kindergarten from Monday through Thursday, experiences challenges with food and will benefit from a patient and compassionate candidate who can offer consistent support and guidance. The family is exploring future schooling options, including charter schools, homeschooling, or a hybrid model. They would be excited to work with a proactive nanny who brings curiosity and enthusiasm for engaging with the children and facilitating developmentally enriching activities. The family has a cat, so a candidate who is pet-friendly and can assist with light pet care is essential!
• Nestled on 50 forested acres with a pond and lake access, the family loves spending time outdoors and finds joy in nature! Their home is lively and active, often filled with extended family visiting. This is a dual-career home where parents are often at home and regularly come and go throughout the day as they balance work and family responsibilities. Grandpa also lives with them and is a regular presence at home. The family will value a nanny who is comfortable with the family’s dynamic home and is happy to pitch in where needed. They also travel internationally every other year for a few weeks. A reliable nanny who is happy caring for the home while the family is away will be a great fit! Someone who enjoys spending time outdoors and is eager to engage with children outside, even in cold or snowy weather, will be a wonderful addition. They also employ a house cleaner. Someone proactive and self-directed will be highly appreciated.

• This position is ideal for a grounded, calm, proactive nanny who is passionate about fostering the growth and development of two curious children! Someone who brings a loving, positive presence to young children and can help them feel safe and regulated through each day will be a wonderful fit. A self-motivated candidate who can confidently integrate into the family’s rhythm and take initiative in planning engaging and enriching activities for both the children will excel in this role. A background in child development and a strong interest in transitioning into an educator role would be a wonderful fit! Experience managing a toddler through preschool-age children in the same role will be valued.  
• Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, and coordinating activities.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has a background in early childhood education (ECE) and/or experience with specific feeding needs.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers through preschool-age children.
• Able to support special feeding needs
• Comfortable with child-related food preparation
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfortable driving in ice and snow
• Pet friendly!
