Household Dynamic:

  • This dynamic and loving family—longtime Adventure Nannies clients—is seeking a collaborative and emotionally attuned nanny/educator for their imaginative, neurodivergent 9-year-old son. He is deeply creative, high verbal IQ, and is full of humor and curiosity. Whether he’s writing comic books, scripting and editing short films, drumming, or engaging in elaborate pretend play, his creativity is always in motion. He is currently in a homeschool enrichment program and would be delighted to have a nanny who can actively support his academic growth.
  • The household is currently based in Los Angeles, but the family has a home in New York City and Colorado. Both parents have high-travel careers and work primarily from home. Their household includes a personal assistant, two housekeepers, and another rotational private educator/nanny. They also have two friendly dogs and a guinea pig, so a pet-friendly candidate is a must!
  • The family travels frequently within the U.S., Europe, and Mexico. They are seeking someone who is travel-ready and enthusiastic about worldschooling, able to adapt curriculum and care routines to different locations, and create learning experiences on the road. A love of adventure, flexibility, and the ability to turn travel into an educational experience are essential.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned nanny/educator with a deep understanding of neurodiversity and someone who brings calm, confidence, creativity, and humor to their work. This child thrives with adults who are playful, patient, emotionally attuned, and skilled in providing both structure and flexibility.

They are seeking someone who:

  • Celebrates neurodiversity and approaches behavior with empathy and curiosity
  • Is skilled in co-regulation, collaborative problem solving, and strength-based strategies
  • Can stay grounded and unflustered in moments of emotional intensity or behavioral challenges
  • Establishes firm, compassionate boundaries while allowing for freedom and expression
  • Brings a warm, easygoing energy to daily care—and loves to be silly, spontaneous, and imaginative
  • Is confident working collaboratively with parents and household staff
  • Has a passion for project-based or mastery-based learning and is comfortable collaborating with their private educator whenever needed
  • Thrives in non-traditional educational settings and is excited to bring learning to life through travel, creativity, and play
  • Shares the family’s commitment to body safety education and consent-based caregiving. The family has studied with child safety expert Feather Berkower and actively reinforces principles such as no secrets, safe touch, and body autonomy in daily life. Candidates should be comfortable working in a home that proactively protects children by fostering openness, trust, and clear boundaries.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the child’s private educator to support and meet academic requirements within the homeschooling program
  • Partner with the child’s behavioral specialist, parents, and educator to ensure holistic support
  • Integrate social-emotional learning into the curriculum
  • Organize playdates, educational outings, and worldschooling experiences
  • Provide hands-on, interest-led learning that fosters critical thinking and self-expression
  • Support the child’s daily routines and developmental needs
  • Handle child-related tasks, including meal prep, organizing learning/play areas, and occasional errands
  • Travel with the family and adapt care and learning environments as needed
  • Create a home atmosphere where the child feels safe, understood, and empowered

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional childcare, teaching, or in-home (private) education experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
  • Extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children, including those with emotional or behavioral regulation needs
  • Expertise in positive reinforcement, co-regulation, and logical consequences
  • Valid passport & driver's license
  • Strong swimmer; comfort with water safety
  • Pet-friendly
