Household dynamic:
- This collaborative, vibrant family in Northern Virginia is seeking a nanny to join their dedicated care team in supporting two sweet, spirited children. Both children are active, curious, and full of energy, with distinct personalities and needs. The eldest thrives with structure and routine, while the youngest is a bright, deeply feeling toddler who benefits from calm, sensory-aware care. They love being outdoors and spending time in nature, and both will be attending preschool this fall. The nanny will work alongside a well-established care team, including the family’s long-term nanny, with one team member serving as the lead nanny
- This is a warm, friendly home where collaboration and communication are key. Mom is currently home and in and out throughout the day. Their fully-staffed household includes chefs, housekeepers, and other nannies, so the candidate will always feel supported. The family travels throughout the year to their homes, typically keeping trips to a maximum of 8 to 9 days away, and extended trips are always communicated in advance with the team. During extended trips, nannies work in rotation. This is a warm and welcoming home where everyone enjoys being together, and where the kids genuinely adore every member of the household.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a fun, team-oriented nanny who enjoys working in an active and collaborative household. The family is looking for someone who brings positivity, adaptability, and a sense of fun to their children's day through engaging and age-appropriate activities. The perfect candidate will be able to connect with and keep up with two energetic children. Their youngest is a lively, sensitive child who is full of personality and requires calm and sensory balance. The nanny needs to be knowledgeable and confident in supporting strong-willed children while being attuned to their sensory needs. A basic understanding of how to support children with big emotions will be crucial. The family needs someone patient and creative, capable of navigating the children's personalities and adapting their childcare approach to meet each child’s unique needs.
- The ideal candidate is experienced working in a team and is excited to work alongside the family’s nanny team. Someone who values teamwork, communication, and is open to feedback and collaboration will thrive well in this tight-knit household. Mom is frequently in and out throughout the day, so someone adaptable and comfortable working alongside a stay-at-home parent is highly valued. A love of nature is essential! Both children find calm, joy, and grounding in the outdoors, and the family deeply appreciates a nanny who shares that enthusiasm and can support their curiosity and play outside. The role also includes supporting the family during travel. A candidate who is travel-ready, organized, and excited to be part of family adventures will be a fantastic fit.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has an educational background (teaching experience, ECE units, etc.) and knows how to interpret test scores.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Enjoy being in nature
- Comfortable working with a stay-at-home parent
- Experience working on a team (any type)
- Willing/able to travel with the family
- Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
