Organized Professional Nanny Needed For Caring Bay Area Family

Open
West Coast

This loving and private family in Hillsborough, CA, seeks an empathetic and proactive nanny to lead toddler adventures!

  • Location: Hillsborough, California
  • Ages of children: Three kiddos: two lively 2-year-olds and their 6-month-old baby brother. This position will primarily focus on the two toddlers, working alongside a second nanny who covers the infant.
  • Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 50 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm or similar. The family is flexible with the schedule for the perfect fit. Flexibility to support travel and overnights is needed!
  • Compensation: The family is offering $45-55+/hour based on a 50-hours/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $129-157k/year range, dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to higher compensation commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out.

Household dynamic:

  • This warm and dynamic family in the Bay Area is seeking an educationally-minded and empathetic nanny to join their nanny team in providing loving and enriching care to their children! They have two toddlers and a 6-month-old. Their oldest, at 2.5 years old, will begin Montessori preschool this fall, while their second child will start later next year. The candidate will work alongside a nanny who primarily cares for the baby and focuses on more household-related tasks. They will be responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, and developmentally-focused environment for the children. The family also has a mellow dog who mostly shows up around mealtimes, so someone pet-friendly is essential!
  • This is a dual-carer household where one parent works exclusively from home while the other alternates between working remotely and spending a few days at the office. The family loves to travel, enjoying long weekend trips, occasional getaways at other residences, and a “remote work” month in the summer. In addition to their other full-time nanny, they also employ a private chef, so a team-minded candidate who can work well with the family and other household staff will be appreciated.

Ideal Candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a warm, organized, and proactively playful nanny who is skilled at weaving structure and imagination together to foster early growth in young children! You’ll shine if you:
  • Craft Montessori-inspired invitations to play, love imagining creative and colorful crafts and STEM-curious projects, and outdoor micro-adventures.
  • Are emotionally intelligent (think “feelings coach” as much as caregiver).
  • Love logistics—mapping weekly outings, managing gear, and syncing calendars with preschool, classes, and travel plans.
  • Thrive on twin dynamics and can anticipate two sets of needs simultaneously.
  • Hold a learner’s mindset, love feedback and teamwork, and keep current on early childhood education best practices.
  • Long-term minded candidates ready to put down roots will thrive.
  • Childcare responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive through the design of an enriching daily rhythm (indoor provocations, backyard play, Bay-Area field trips), child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep of healthy snacks and chef’s food, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would be excited to meet a candidate with any of the following qualifications: a bachelor’s degree, a background in Early Childhood Education, and/or Montessori experience.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants through preschool-age children
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport
  • Experience caring for multiple (2+) children in a role
  • Experience working on a nanny team or in a fully-staffed home
  • Comfortable preparing child-related meals
  • Travel experience
  • Dog-friendly!
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
