Household dynamic:
- This kind and organized family is seeking a positive, reliable, and outdoor-loving nanny to join them in supporting their growing family! They have a 6-year-old daughter who attends school full-time, a 2-year-old son who is in preschool two times a week, and a newborn due in September 2025. The nanny will primarily be responsible for caring for their son and their newborn while occasionally assisting with their eldest on non-school days. The family is eager to work with a candidate who can foster their children’s early growth and development through engaging, age-appropriate activities. The family has large dogs, cats, chickens, and goats on their property, so someone comfortable working in an animal-friendly home is essential!
- The family lives in a neighborhood surrounded by nature and encourages outdoor exploration. The family enjoys being outside and would value a candidate who is comfortable in a rural environment and embraces the kids' love for outdoor activities, whether it’s climbing tress, insect hunting, hiking, mud and water play, or reading and painting outside. Both parents work from home and are actively involved in their children’s lives. They also foster a kind and respectful environment at home and are supported by a part-time nanny and a housekeeper. A collaborative nanny who works well with the family and other household staff will be appreciated!
Ideal Candidate:
- This position is ideal for a reliable, organized, self-motivated nanny who has a genuine interest in nurturing children’s early childhood development! Someone confident in caring for their newborn, adhering to a feeding and sleeping schedule while also keeping up with their active toddler, and allowing him to enjoy outdoor play will be a great fit! The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and shared belief in progressive, evidence-based parenting, guiding their children through their emotions and emphasizing positive discipline, emotional intelligence, and age-appropriate communication. The family will also value a proactive and organized candidate with a see-a-need, fill-a-need approach in supporting their family. A team-oriented candidate who is comfortable working alongside hands-on parents and is committed to a long-term partnership with the family will thrive in this role.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities. Their 2-year-old has allergies to dairy and eggs, so someone comfortable navigating this will be key!
- While it is not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Spanish and adheres to a nature-based childcare/education style.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants through elementary-aged children
- Valid driver's license
