Household dynamic:
- This active, Christian family is seeking a family-centered and values-driven nanny to join their thriving household in Purcellville! While the family is large—with 13 children and a baby on the way—this home is built on a foundation of "family first," teamwork, and joy. They are passionate about fostering their children’s individual interests and enjoy traveling together for sports tournaments and beach vacations.
- This is a position for a nanny who can work collaboratively alongside mom. The family takes great pride in their relationship with their staff, having employed previous nannies long-term. To ensure the household runs smoothly, they also employ a chef, housekeeping support, and additional household support, allowing the nanny to focus their energy on connecting with the children.
- While the environment in the home is energetic, the role is specifically focused on the younger girls (ages 2.5 and 4, as well as occasionally supporting the 6 and 7 year olds). The mother is a hands-on, stay-at-home parent who values collaboration, making this the perfect role for a candidate who enjoys working alongside a dedicated and present parent in a home filled with love, laughter, and a strong support system.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a steady, adaptable, and self-confident nanny who enjoys working in a high-energy and values-driven household. The family is looking for someone who brings a grounded presence and a sense of stability to their children's day through engaging play and active supervision. The perfect candidate will be able to connect with and keep up with a large, bustling brood, specifically focusing on the toddlers and preschoolers. The home is vibrant and constantly in motion, so the nanny needs to be knowledgeable and confident in managing multiple moving parts without getting overwhelmed. A strong backbone combined with a calm nature will be crucial. The family needs someone "go-with-the-flow" yet firm, capable of navigating the energetic dynamics of a large family while supporting their faith-based approach to parenting.
- The ideal candidate is experienced in working collaboratively and is excited to partner with a hands-on, stay-at-home mom. Someone who values open communication, discretion, and is comfortable with a parent present throughout the day will thrive in this close-knit household. Privacy is paramount, so someone who understands the importance of confidentiality is highly valued.
- A willingness to travel is essential! The family enjoys sports trips and beach vacations, and they deeply appreciate a nanny who is adventurous and ready to hit the road with them. The role also includes supporting the family during these trips (2-4 weeks per year). A candidate who is travel-ready, adaptable, and excited to be part of family adventures will be a fantastic fit.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, and handling child-related household tasks, including but not limited to children's laundry, tidying and organizing of children’s play areas, meal preparation for the children, and maintaining a tidy environment amidst the daily fun.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience with large families and is knowledgeable and confident in supporting children with ADD/ADHD.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with toddler, pre-school, and early-elementary-aged children
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledgeable and confident supporting children with ADD/ADHD
- Flexible and able to travel with family and children
- Comfortable working in a Christian household
- Experience working in a private household where confidentiality and discretion were essential
- Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
