
This global, progressive Menlo Park family is seeking an empathetic and detail-oriented nanny to support their three vibrant children across two loving households.
- Location: The Willows, Menlo Park, CA
- Ages of children: 12, almost 7, and 6 years old
- Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Some flexibility for travel and/or weekend coverage will be asked in advance and appreciated, but is not a requirement for the right candidate.
- Compensation: The family is offering $55-60/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $114-124k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family will provide benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, a housing stipend, and relocation assistance.

Household dynamic:
- This globally-minded, progressive Bay Area family includes three spunky children who split their time between two households, both in Palo Alto. Their 12-year-old daughter is a voracious reader with a love for advanced math and a sharp sense of humor. Their almost 7-year-old is a gentle soul with a huge heart who is now learning to read, and adores Pokémon cards and swimming. Their youngest, at 6 years old, is independent, smart, and a great singer. All three children attend school full-time in Menlo Park and have full schedule of extracurricular and school activities. Another adorable member of the family is a sweet dog who benefits from affection and a calm presence.
- The family is collaboratively co-parenting across two homes with warmth, respect, and clear communication. They are all professionals, highly engaged in their careers, and highly involved in their parenting and supporting their children. One parent travels often on holidays, while the other parent’s household travels extensively throughout the year and hopes to have someone who can provide childcare support during these travels. Vacations are often spent internationally with destinations including Hawaii, Germany, and the Mediterranean. They also take trips to Japan or Wisconsin to visit their extended family. The family has thoughtfully designed an efficient system and a strong sense of mutual respect that ensures both households are supported and rooted in inclusivity and teamwork. Additionally, they are supported by a household manager who has also served as the family’s back-up childcare support.

- This position is ideal for a candidate who brings an expansive, inclusive mindset and understanding to the definition of family. The ideal candidate will lead with stability and reliability at the forefront, along with empathy, sensitivity, and steadiness in their childcare approach and genuine respect for each child’s unique needs. Their two older children have behavioral needs and would benefit from the presence of a calm, even-keeled candidate who can offer gentle structure, help with regulation, assist with medication routines, and provide consistent support, particularly during moments of high energy or big feelings. A behaviorist is an on-call resource, ensuring that the nanny is supported whenever needed.
- Privacy and discretion are important for this role. The family will value a professional nanny who can maintain professionalism at all times. A candidate who can embrace diverse family structures, is comfortable working in a co-parenting set-up, and handles dynamics with discretion will feel right at home. The candidate will work closely with the family’s household manager and should be comfortable collaborating as part of a well-coordinated team. Someone communicative, professional, detail-oriented, and steady will go a long way in these loving, inclusive, and warm households. Since the family travels frequently, they will love to work with a candidate who is eager to join in the family adventures while also providing excellent and attentive childcare support while traveling.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to laundry, meal preparation and cleaning up afterwards which includes loading/unloading of the children’s' dishes, tidying and organizing children’s areas, managing clothing and bath inventory, maintaining children’s art and adding kids photo to a shared digital photo album, supporting children’s bath, preparing snacks and lunches, driving to/from appointments, support their son’s exercise and therapies, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience or familiarity with high-profile families.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledgeable and confident in supporting children with ADD/ADHD
- Comfortable preparing basic meals for children
- Travel experience
- Able to swim and care for children in water,
- Valid driver's license
- Valid passport
- Dog friendly!
