Household dynamic:
- This warm and engaged family in Boulder is seeking a nanny/family assistant to care for their children and support their growing family. They have two joyful daughters, ages 5 and 2, who both delight in crafts, reading, nature walks, and creative play. The family is also excited to welcome their newest addition this May. The nanny will support the children, including the newborn. While both parents are eager to be actively involved and fully embrace the newborn phase, they're excited to partner with a nanny who feels confident caring for the baby and their older children alike. Two friendly dogs also share their home.
- Both parents work from home and are hands-on, organized, and communicative. The family leads an active and outdoor-oriented lifestyle and loves traveling, skiing, biking, camping, and spending time outdoors. They prioritize outdoor exploration over screen time, healthy living, and home-cooked meals. Fostering calm and positive energy and having direct, respectful communication is essential to this loving home. The family takes 8-12 weeks of both domestic and international travel throughout the year and would love to work with a nanny who is excited to join them. During travel, the nanny may occasionally share a room with the older children. The family hopes to meet someone excited to grow with them over the next several years.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a warm, capable, and upbeat nanny/family assistant who is enthusiastic about engaging with young children and takes pride in helping a busy household run smoothly. A nanny who enjoys imaginative, activity-based play will thrive in this role - someone who loves storytelling, creating games, and turning everyday routines into playful adventures for the children. The family values a nanny/family assistant who can guide the day with calm confidence while creating a nurturing environment where the children feel supported, encouraged to explore, learn, and have fun. Experience caring for multiple children is essential, as the role involves supporting two young children and a newborn. Both parents will be hands-on with the infant, and there will be times when the nanny and the parents work together to care for the baby and the older children, especially around school routines and daily activities. The nanny will also take on independent care for the newborn at times, as well as care for the newborn alongside the older children.
- The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and solutions-oriented, with a strong willingness to help maintain an organized home. The family will greatly appreciate a nanny/family assistant who is happy to step in to tidy, organize, or assist with family tasks while the children are at school or napping. A gentle, discreet, and professional demeanor is important; the perfect candidate should be able to read the room and navigate household dynamics with ease. Both parents are highly involved and value direct communication, so someone collaborative with excellent communication skills will be valued. The family also maintains a strictly smoke-free and vape-free work environment (including the home, property, and vehicles). Candidates are expected to adhere to this policy at all times while on duty or representing the family. As the family travels frequently, the nanny/family assistant should be adaptable, confident, and comfortable driving in various conditions, including mountain roads and winter weather. They are excited to welcome someone who brings warmth, initiative, and steady energy to their growing home and enjoys being part of an active, loving family.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties include laundry, healthy meal preparation, grocery shopping, errands, light household organization and tidying, occasional support with home or small business-related tasks, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks French.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with infants through toddlers
- Experience supporting multiple children
- Strong understanding of child development
- Strong swimmer and comfortable around the water
- Comfortable with frequent travel
- Valid passport (not expiring within 6 months)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Comfortable driving on snow and snowy mountain passes, in the mountains on divided highways, non-divided winding mountain roads, and gravel roads, and in large SUVs
- Standard Vaccinations (DTap, MMR, Polio)
- Comfortable maintaining a strictly smoke-free and vape-free work environment (including the home, property, and vehicles).
- Dog-friendly
