Household dynamic:

  • This down-to-earth rural Arizona family is seeking a nanny/family assistant to care for their happy, smiley 6-month-old daughter. Her family describes her as a hands-on baby who loves to explore her surroundings and be up on someone's hip or shoulders as she takes in the world. She thrives with a high-energy caregiver who can match her curiosity throughout the day. The family also has two older children, ages 11 and 5, who typically do not need dedicated childcare from the nanny/family assistant. The family lives on a beautiful rural property, featuring a creek, a large garden, goats, and an on-site beeswax candle studio with dedicated spaces for the children. With so many opportunities to explore, this is anything but an all-day-inside role! From peaceful walks around the property to playful afternoons in the studio, the nanny will have a wonderful setting in which to support the baby's growth and development.
  • Both parents are actively involved in their children's lives and move in and out of the home throughout the day while running their professional businesses based on the family’s property. Their days have a natural, collaborative rhythm, and they look forward to welcoming a caregiver who feels comfortable working alongside engaged parents and navigating the occasional handoff around naps, outings, and daily routines. While the family enjoys the comforts and experiences of their lifestyle, their home is refreshingly relaxed and full of life. They value common sense, initiative, and genuine connection over formality and hope to find someone who appreciates the charm of country living. The family also has a home in Costa Rica, where they typically spend approximately two weeks over the Christmas holidays, presenting potential opportunities for travel. Above all, they are excited to welcome a nanny/family assistant who can become a trusted, valued part of their family dynamic and build a meaningful, long-term relationship as their daughter grows.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a warm, high-energy, intuitive nanny/family assistant who brings a joyful spirit to each day alongside a strong foundation in professional infant care. The family is seeking someone who genuinely delights in nurturing young children, understands the importance of developmental milestones, and can thoughtfully create stimulating, age-appropriate experiences that encourage exploration and learning. Whether introducing a new sensory activity, spending time outdoors, or discovering creative ways to engage the baby throughout the property, the ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, attentiveness, and a natural sense of fun to their work. The right candidate will have excellent judgment, practical infant care knowledge, and a proactive approach to safety, including thoughtful communication with parents around feeding, allergens, and changes to established routines. The family hopes to work with someone who takes their responsibilities seriously while bringing warmth, confidence, and ease to the day-to-day.
  • The right candidate will be adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a home where parents are actively involved throughout the day. Someone who can confidently take the lead when needed while also embracing a team-oriented approach will thrive in this environment. The family would especially appreciate a self-starter with a see-a-need, fill-the-need mindset for the role. Someone who can naturally anticipate the family’s needs and is happy to lend a hand without constant direction will be an excellent fit. A genuine appreciation for rural living, outdoor exploration, and a lively, close-knit household is essential. This is a wonderful opportunity for a caregiver who enjoys the professionalism and thoughtful standards of a high-end household while feeling equally at home in a smaller, relaxed, and playful family setting. The family hopes to find someone excited to invest in a lasting relationship and become a trusted presence in their daughter's life.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children's areas, occasional errands, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties are running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has the following:
  • Infant sign language knowledge
  • Second language knowledge
  • Experience working in high-end homes while also being happy in a smaller family home
  • Ability to travel with the family

‍

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants
  • Proven Infant experience
  • Willingness to perform family assistant tasks
  • Comfort in a rural setting
  • Interest in a long-term role - ideally for at least one year or longer
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
  • A Note on Health & Safety Requirements: To protect their household, the hiring family requires candidates to provide proof of all standard vaccinations (Tdap and Flu)] before scheduling an in-person trial or finalizing a job offer (subject to applicable laws and required accommodations). Because this is a private family requirement, any relevant records will be requested and reviewed by the family directly. Adventure Nannies does not collect, review, or screen candidates for vaccination status.
