Household dynamic:

  • This loving family of four values warmth, kindness, curiosity, consistency, and spending meaningful time together. Their home is filled with laughter, creativity, and adventure, and they are looking for a nanny who will naturally become part of that dynamic. Their older daughter, at 8 years old, enjoys arts and crafts, sports, games, and learning, while their 6-year-old younger daughter has an incredible sense of humor, loves building with Magna-Tiles, creating marble runs, and imaginative play, and approaches life with infectious enthusiasm. The younger daughter has mild cerebral palsy and typically has some therapy activities after school, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy throughout the week, as well as other activities such as horseback riding. This fall, both children will be attending 1st and 3rd grade. The family is seeking a nanny who can confidently support her continued growth by incorporating simple home exercises recommended by her therapy team while encouraging her independence and celebrating her accomplishments. This household also includes a friendly dog, so someone comfortable with pets is essential.
  • The family lives on a beautiful, gated property near Lake Michigan in the picturesque community of East Lake Forest. Mom primarily works from a dedicated home office and occasionally travels, while Dad primarily works outside the home and travels several days each week. At the core of their family values are consistency, warmth, and encouragement as they raise their daughters. They love spending time together, whether it’s an impromptu game night, a weekend adventure, or just being silly in the kitchen. The family also enjoys traveling together approximately 8 to 12 weeks each year, primarily to Florida, southern California, and Toronto, and would love a nanny who genuinely enjoys joining them for some of these trips if needed. They are supported by an executive assistant, a shared house manager, a weekly housekeeper, a private chef Monday through Thursday, and an additional after-school driving helper, creating a collaborative household where the nanny is well supported. The family's location also offers convenient access to downtown Lake Forest, parks, beaches, and the Metra, making it easy to enjoy the surrounding community during personal time.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a grounded, experienced, collaborative, career nanny who is passionate about childcare and finds joy in supporting childrens’ growth and development. The family is seeking someone with genuinely positive energy who approaches each day with curiosity, confidence, and a can-do, solutions-focused mindset. Their younger daughter would especially benefit from a dedicated, adaptable, compassionate caregiving approach. This nanny will be knowledgeable and confident in supporting children with specialized needs and have experience thoughtfully supporting children with mild motor or developmental differences by implementing therapist-recommended home exercise routines, all while encouraging independence, celebrating progress, and fostering confidence.
  • The ideal candidate has a genuine love of children and brings a warm, nurturing demeanor and naturally connects with their two creative, spirited daughters. Someone who is team-oriented, emotionally intelligent, transparent in their communication, and thrives as part of a team, working alongside the parents and household staff to support the children, including daily routines around homework, screen-time structure, and bedtime, in partnership with the parents, will be a wonderful fit! The family's parenting philosophy centers on structure paired with warmth, clear routines while filling each day with encouragement, affection, creativity, and fun. They would love to work with someone who brings that same warmth and playfulness to everyday life with their children and who is excited to become a long-term, trusted presence in their daughters' lives.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, managing the children’s laundry, occasional errands, before- and after-school routines and driving the girls to and from extracurricular activities, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. The role will also include driving their younger daughter to her after-school therapy appointments and supporting her simple prescribed home exercises
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has previous live-in nanny experience and familiarity with or history of living in the Chicago area or is excited to relocate there. A background in education and/or focus in education is a huge plus!
