Experienced School-Age Nanny / Family Assistant Needed For Active CA Family

This lively and bustling family in Burlingame, CA is seeking a warm and experienced Nanny/Family Assistant to nurture and support their two curious and active elementary-aged children. 

  • Location: Burlingame, California
  • Ages of children: 5 and 9 years old
  • Start date: As soon as they find the right fit! 
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, with some flexibility. Occasional overnight coverage may be required, so flexibility to accommodate this need is key! 
  • Compensation: The family is offering $60-67/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $125-140k/year range. May be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing a housing stipend, paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance based on the candidate's need and the full benefits package.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out.

  • This lively and bustling return Adventure Nannies family is seeking a confident and grounded nanny/family assistant to join them in caring for their two bright and loving children! Their oldest, at 9 years old, is curious, loves playing sports like soccer and tennis, enjoys drawing, reads a lot, and is into general knowledge topics, especially sports, basketball players, and board games. He is navigating a period of transition and will benefit from a grounded and supportive caregiver. At 5 years old, their youngest is described by her family as a very affectionate, respectful, and deeply creative kid who enjoys creative crafts and projects, whether that is transforming kitchen towel rolls into binoculars or creating handmade flowers. The family is excited to work with a candidate who can provide a warm, loving, and engaging environment for the children while supporting their overall growth and development. 
  • This is a dual career household where both parents often work from home in a dedicated home office and are regularly in and out of the home as they go about their daily schedules. They travel often for work and during traditional school breaks. This is a lively, joyful home with music often playing and plenty of fun activities, whether it’s getting an ice cream or watching a movie.  Their extended family also loves to visit them. They foster a team-oriented spirit at home and would love to work with a candidate who is comfortable working closely with parents in a collaborative, tag-team environment and taking full charge independently. Someone who can work harmoniously with other household staff, including housekeepers and a chef will be a wonderful addition to the team!

A candidate who is adaptable with a calm demeanor and can skillfully manage lots of moving pieces will be key! The family seeks someone excited to tag-team the day with a hands-on parent who works from home, while also being confident with independent care. A candidate with a pitch in or all hands on deck approach will thrive in this role!   • Responsibilities include childcare and family assisting tasks. Childcare responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family every once and a while. Family assisting duties are running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar. 
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who is local or has ties to the Bay Area and/or is willing to do overnights. 

Qualifications: 

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with elementary through upper elementary-age children
  • Family assisting or house management experience 
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Valid passport
  • Standard vaccinations (e.g COVID-19, Tdap, and flu)
