Household dynamic:
- This active, developmentally-focused family is passionate about books, music, and outdoor adventures! They are seeking a long-term nanny who can support their three young children and integrate smoothly into their home. Their two older children love to play pretend and explore outside all day as long as they can. Their 4-year-old is high-energy and is always on the move. He currently attends preschool and will start pre-K next fall. Their bright and spirited 2-year-old daughter will be starting preschool two days per week. Their newest addition is just a few months old, and the nanny will be supporting all three children throughout the day as needed.
- The family values engagement and creating a fun, enriching environment for their kids and would love for their children to be challenged developmentally, stay active, explore new interests, and spend as much time outside as possible. They are health-oriented and place great emphasis on a healthy diet, movement, and outdoor adventures. As a Jewish family, they observe a kosher-style diet and celebrate Shabbat on Friday nights with their children. The children attend Jewish day school and often come home excited to share what they have learned. Travel is a key part of the family’s lifestyle. They love to travel for several weeks throughout the year, with one to two weeks to visit their family in and around New York City, a week for a ski trip, and a few weeks for a European getaway. They spend as much time as possible outdoors, and if a child shows interest in something new, the family does everything they can to nurture that curiosity. The family is supported by a housekeeper.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a proactive, structured, and adaptable nanny who finds joy in supporting children and can easily integrate into a dynamic and vibrant home. Someone who is a natural planner who shows up with engaging, age-appropriate activities for the children. The ideal candidate will be confident in caring for three young children and capable of keeping up with two energetic children. A nanny who has experience working with multiple children in a role, who can navigate sibling dynamics with ease, and is attuned to the individual needs of each child will be an excellent fit for this role.
- The family enjoys going on adventures, whether it's exploring the outdoors or traveling to another country to experience new cultures. The ideal candidate is consistent, reliable, and curious about exploring the world while embracing each child's unique interests. When traveling, the nanny might not always join the family. This person needs to be enthusiastic about supporting the family during travels, if needed, and to adapt to different cultures with ease. The family is seeking a candidate who can complement their hands-on, health-conscious, and family-oriented lifestyle.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has a Bachelor’s degree and/or family-assisting experience.
