Household dynamic:

  • This loving, adventurous family is seeking a dedicated rotational nanny to care for and nurture their two young children. The family is currently based in Los Angeles, where the children will remain in preschool through mid-June, and expect to stay in California through the end of summer before transitioning to their primary home in Jackson, Wyoming. They have two thriving children, ages 2 and 5, who both attend a Reggio Emilio preschool. Their son will begin kindergarten this fall. When not in school or engaged in a structured class/activity, both children love to play. They are highly creative and imaginative, frequently coming up with different games to play or art projects to create. The family dedicated art room where the kids spend 1-2 hours a day creating various abstract pieces or simple paintings and coloring. The children don’t really watch TV, so they spend many hours engaged in imaginative play like hiking, rescue missions, restaurant play, and active running around games they think up, or in the art room creating. Skiing is also a big part of their lives, along with activities like ice skating and hiking. The family practices gentle parenting and is excited to work with a nanny who shares a similar childcare philosophy.
  • Both parents are retired, at home frequently, and very hands-on. Mom prioritizes a high level of care for their children. The family values collaboration with their caregivers and approaches parenting with warmth, emotional awareness, and intentional care. This is an active, travel-loving household that travels for several weeks each year, particularly during school breaks, often to unique and sometimes remote destinations. While the children are in school, the family may occasionally take them on trips with them. The nanny will work collaboratively with parents and other household members.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a warm, calm, and confident rotational nanny who brings intentional care and emotional awareness to their childcare approach. The family is seeking an experienced, emotionally attuned candidate who can thoughtfully assess situations, anticipate the children’s needs, and collaborate closely with hands-on parents. The ideal candidate is nurturing and capable of setting firm and loving boundaries while supporting the children’s emotional awareness and growth. The family follows a gentle parenting approach and regularly engages with their children's emotions. A loving and patient rotational nanny who can help the children navigate, understand, and validate their feelings would be an excellent fit. Someone with a strong foundation in Reggio Emilia-inspired care, child development, or child psychology will thrive in this loving home.
  • This role is perfect for a nanny who genuinely thrives in creative, imaginative play. Both children are creative, and the family is seeking someone who finds joy in engaging in active, child-led play and fostering creativity through art, storytelling, and open-ended, screen-free activities. The children are also active and love skiing, so someone who is excited about being outside and enjoys engaging children in activities such as hiking, skating, and other interactive play will be an amazing fit! The family is happy to support lessons for the right person. Travel is a significant part of the role. The ideal candidate will be eager to join the family adventures and interested in unique destinations that may sometimes be remote.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who holds a Bachelor’s degree, especially in child development or child psychology. As both children speak Spanish, a fluent Spanish-speaker would be a huge plus, and the family would also be excited to work with a Mandarin-speaking nanny; additional languages such as Arabic or French are warmly welcomed. Experience with skiing or a willingness to learn will also be appreciated.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Open to family assistant tasks
  • Travel experience
  • Ability to travel with the family throughout the year
  • Able to swim and care for children in water
  • Experience working in a team or a fully-staffed environment
  • Be comfortable working with stay-at-home parents (SAHPS) who are very hands-on
  • Gentle parenting experience OR a strong foundation in Reggio Emilia
  • Mandarin or Spanish speakers preferred
  • Ability to live-in while on duty and live-out while off duty
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid passport
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
