Household dynamic:

  • This close-knit, adventurous Bay Area family is seeking a nanny/family assistant to care for and support their growing children! The candidate will primarily care for their 6-month-old daughter while occasionally supporting and engaging with the family’s two older children. The older kids are a curious and engaged 7-year-old daughter who loves reading, music, tennis, skateboarding, and art; an active and enthusiastic 5-year-old son who enjoys soccer, puzzles, Hot Wheels, and playing with their dog, Pretzel (non-allergenic).
  • Both parents have demanding schedules and are seeking dependable, high-quality care. The family likes to get outside, and the parents love to ski, surf, and run around the neighborhood! They do several extended trips a year to their home in Montana and are open to more domestic and international adventures in the future as their children grow. They also value clear communication, reliability, and a strong interpersonal fit, and are hoping to meet the right fit to join them.

‍

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a warm, positive, nurturing, and adaptable nanny/family assistant who brings genuine enthusiasm and a calm, confident presence to their work. With the family's 6-month-old daughter as the primary focus, the ideal candidate will have strong infant care experience, a thoughtful understanding of developmental milestones, and a proactive approach to creating engaging, age-appropriate experiences. The family is seeking someone who naturally brings positive energy to the household, enjoys being an active part of a child's growth, and approaches each day with patience, warmth, and initiative. A caregiver who enjoys preparing nutritious meals for little ones and supporting the introduction of solids will be especially appreciated.
  • The family would love to find a communicative, dependable, and team-oriented nanny/family assistant who genuinely enjoys being part of a busy, collaborative household. Someone who communicates openly and proactively, welcomes feedback, and feels comfortable sharing questions, concerns, and ideas will thrive in this role. The ideal candidate will also enjoy connecting with the older children, happily jump in during overlapping hours, and approach changing routines with flexibility and a can-do attitude. As travel is an important part of the family's lifestyle, they are seeking someone genuinely excited to accompany them on trips, who adapts easily to new environments, and brings the same positive, engaged presence whether at home or away. Above all, the family hopes to build a lasting relationship with a dedicated caregiver who is excited to become a trusted, valued part of their household and grow alongside their children for years to come.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, managing newborn care routines, after-school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. This is a hybrid role, so a willingness to take on agreed family assistant tasks — such as household organization, cleaning up, and supporting the family's daily routines — is also an important part of the role.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience working in a team or a fully-staffed home and has experience working with dynamic, fast-paced households. A bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in a child or education-related field is preferred

‍

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience, specifically the infant age range
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants, preschool, and early elementary-age children
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to swim and care for children in and near water
  • Willingness to perform family assistant tasks
  • Dog friendly
  • Travel nanny experience
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
  • A Note on Health & Safety Requirements: To protect their household, the hiring family requires candidates to provide proof of all standard vaccinations (MMR, Tdap, Flu) before scheduling an in-person trial or finalizing a job offer (subject to applicable laws and required accommodations). Because this is a private family requirement, any relevant records will be requested and reviewed by the family directly. Adventure Nannies does not collect, review, or screen candidates for vaccination status.
