Household dynamic:

  • This active, family-oriented, SoHo-based family is seeking a dedicated nanny/family assistant to join their established household team and support their three children, ages 4 to 11! All three children attend school full-time and enjoy a variety of after-school activities that keep their days busy. One of the children splits time between this household and a co-parent's home, and the family is looking for an extra set of hands to help manage the children's schedules, especially when all three are home. The family is excited to welcome someone who can provide consistent care while keeping the children engaged and supported.
  • This semi-formal, family-oriented family enjoys an active lifestyle that includes travel, sporting events, and an appreciation for the culinary arts. This position formally reports to the Family Office, with a dotted line directly to the Principals, and will work collaboratively with the existing rotational nanny team to help manage the children's daily routines, coordinate activities, assist with child-related household and administrative tasks, and support travel preparations. During school breaks and summer months, the nanny may also be asked to travel with the family, helping care for the children and maintain their routines while away from home. The family values privacy, flexibility, and teamwork and is looking for someone who can fit in well with their established, dynamic household.

‍

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a confident, highly organized, responsible nanny/family assistant who brings positive, calming energy and genuinely enjoys working with children of different ages. The family is looking for someone with a strong understanding of childhood development who can create a safe, fun, and engaging environment while maintaining consistent, age-appropriate boundaries and encouraging learning through everyday experiences. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and adaptable, with the ability to anticipate the children's needs, manage busy schedules, and confidently handle last-minute changes with little direction or oversight.
  • Someone punctual, detail-oriented, emotionally intelligent, and comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities will thrive in this role. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit will serve this candidate well when working alongside the existing nannies and household staff. They should also be comfortable transitioning between hands-on childcare and child-related household and administrative tasks. Discretion, confidentiality, and respect for the family's privacy are essential in this role, and the ideal candidate will be mindful of maintaining appropriate professional boundaries at all times. With travel being a regular part of the family's lifestyle, the ideal candidate will enjoy being on the go, feel comfortable with extended boat travel, and be confident caring for children in and around the water. A tech-savvy, dependable professional who is excited to become a trusted, long-term part of the family's team would be a wonderful fit.
  • Responsibilities include fostering an environment where the children thrive through attentive, developmentally appropriate care, daily routine management, school transportation, homework help, meal preparation, playdates, and extracurricular support. Child-related household duties encompass laundry, tidying and organizing bedrooms, play areas, and bathrooms, cleaning gear and toys, preparing activity bags, tracking supply inventories, and running routine errands. The nanny/family assistant will also manage family administration - including calendars, appointments, camp registrations, and school forms - while coordinating travel packing across residences and handling child-related projects during downtime. Above all, the role requires proactive initiative, strict confidentiality, and close collaboration with the rotating nanny and broader household team, always keeping the children’s care as the top priority.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience traveling with families and children and working in a team or a fully-staffed home. A Bachelor’s degree in education or child development is a plus!

‍

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with kindergarten, elementary-aged to high school-aged children
  • Ability to travel with the family throughout the year
  • Able to swim and care for children in water
  • Comfortable with extended boat travel
  • Willingness to perform family assisting tasks
  • Comfortable working with technology to manage calendars, appointments, school and camp registrations, forms, and other child-related administrative tasks
  • Availability to work during nights, weekends, holidays, or other special events when needed.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to communicate with all levels of staff, clients, and vendors
  • Valid driver's license and passport
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
