Household dynamic:

  • This return Adventure Nannies family recently welcomed twins into their bustling household (currently supported by a newborn care specialist). The family leads a busy life filled with varying school schedules and after-school activities, and is looking for an additional team member to support them in their various endeavors and adventures. The older children love being outside and exploring, reading books, and doing arts and crafts. Their two older children attend private school, while their nearly 5-year-old and 3-year-old attend preschool. Their almost 8-year-old son has frequent after-school obligations, including sports practices and occupational therapy, and one of their daughters attends speech therapy and ballet as well. Like many households with small children, their schedules vary slightly from season to season, depending on sports and other activities, as well as whether school is in session. Every day is a little different! The family fosters an organized, team-oriented home and truly values the caregivers they have thoughtfully worked with. They have a history of working with wonderful caregivers and appreciate someone who takes pride in helping their loving home run smoothly.
  • Both parents are regularly in and out of the home. Mom is a full-time parent and very actively involved in the children’s lives and household routines. The family loves traveling to Telluride, the Outer Banks, and visiting their family on the eastern shore, with their nanny joining them! They highly value family time and are hoping for a new addition to their household who will help them maximize quality time together. With many moving pieces, they employ a housekeeper and a full-time nanny, and currently employ a beloved newborn care specialist for their newborn twins.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the rhythm of a bustling, loving household. The perfect candidate is someone confident and experienced in supporting multiple children at the same time, helping to keep their routines organized, and ensuring that each child has what they need to navigate their day confidently. Someone who is engaged and able to foster enriching experiences and activities, whether it’s reading books with the children or planning creative play, will be a wonderful fit! The candidate will join the family's care team and will have an overlapping schedule with the morning nanny. Typically, the candidate will be in sole charge of two to four children at a time. Each day will be different; some days may focus more on infant care, while other days will prioritize the older children with after-school activities.
  • A proactive candidate who can anticipate the needs of each child and facilitate smooth transitions between activities or routines will be essential! Adaptability, strong communication skills, and a collaborative spirit are important for this role! This family values a candidate who will truly work as Mom’s teammate during the day, who is willing to pitch in whenever needed, communicates effectively, and works harmoniously with parents and other household members. Above all, they hope to work with someone who supports the family’s goal of having a happy and loving household!
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, managing the children’s laundry, organizing children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience with twins.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
  • Experience with multiple kids (2+) at a time
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
