Household dynamic:

  • This friendly, welcoming, and bustling family based between San Francisco and Palo Alto is seeking a rotational nanny to join their collaborative household team. The family includes three active children, and the candidate will work alongside their current nanny, who the family hopes to transition into a rotational schedule. Their children are an energetic, joyful bunch! Their oldest son, at 9 years old, is a quiet and tender child. He likes to stay busy, whether playing outside or doing an art project, and loves magic, gnomes, and creating stories! Both of the older children attend school full-time during the week. Their 5-year-old daughter is a happy, carefree, and expressive child. Her parents describe her as a speed demon, and note that she loves things that go fast- like bikes, boats, and scooters. Their youngest, at 3 years old, is a bright little one who is developing his personality and eager to explore the world around him. By January, all three children will be attending school full-time, with the youngest transitioning into a full-day program. The nanny will support the children’s daily routines and contribute to maintaining an organized home through an all-hands-on-deck approach.
  • The family splits their time between their two Bay Area homes and enjoys traveling frequently throughout the year. This fully-staffed home fosters a supportive and team-oriented environment and appreciates a true team player to join them.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a grounded, travel-savvy, adaptable rotational nanny who thrives in a team-oriented, dynamic, fast-paced environment. The family is seeking a team player, someone with a sunny disposition and excellent organizational skills. A candidate who brings a bright, warm, and joyful energy to the role will be a great addition to the family’s warm and loving home. With three children and frequent travel, the ideal candidate will be calm in chaos, easily shift gears as needed, and be reliable to roll with the punches while anticipating and supporting the family’s needs. A proactive and collaborative candidate who is excited to join their close-knit household team and eager to join in the family adventures will be a perfect fit.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties are running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has a fully-staffed home or team experience.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with pre-school, early elementary, elementary, or high school-age children
  • Travel-savviness and experience
  • Ability to swim and care for children around water
  • Live-in while on duty and live-out while off duty
  • Local to San Francisco / Palo Alto and willing to commute to/from either location for ROTA shifts
  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver's license
