Household dynamic:
- This loving, active family splits their time between Chicago, Miami, and Cabo San Lucas. For the next couple of years, they will primarily be between Chicago and Cabo as work is completed on their Miami home. They value warmth, reliability, and a positive attitude, and are looking for someone who will become a trusted part of their family, not just an employee. Their 19-month-old daughter is a bright little girl who loves music, art, and playing outside. She is curious and social, and her family encourages her independence while surrounding her with kindness and structure. She previously attended a Montessori school and will be enrolled in school again during the family’s extended stay in Cabo, beginning in December. Her daily routine includes school, playtime, dinner, and an early bedtime. The family cherishes creating a calm, loving environment for her to grow and learn. They also share their home with two small dogs.
- Their home is organized yet relaxed. They love good food, laughter, and travel. The family travels over 12 weeks a year, splitting their time between their multiple residences. They hope to work with a nanny who enjoys adventure and is comfortable traveling internationally. They have a full-time housekeeper in Mexico and twice-a-week housekeeping support in Miami and Chicago. A full-time personal assistant also helps manage logistics and scheduling, which allows the nanny to focus primarily on childcare and maintaining a happy routine for their little one. Their daughter is learning Spanish, and they would love to find a nanny who can continue to instill a love and appreciation for speaking Spanish, especially with the considerable amount of time the family spends in Mexico each year!
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a nurturing, experienced, and trustworthy nanny who loves caring for children and is excited to be a true partner for the family. Loyalty, patience, and kindness are important for this role. They are looking for someone attentive, gentle, and genuinely a good person who can confidently step in and support the family when needed and provide thoughtful, loving care when parents aren’t around, and help their daughter continue to grow and develop. Both parents are hands-on, so a candidate who can support while confidently taking the lead and ensuring their daughter is safe, supported, and developmentally nurtured will excel. The ideal candidate will create a warm, engaging, and developmentally enriching environment for their little one. Someone who can read to her, play with her, and keep her actively engaged throughout the day while monitoring her milestones will be an ideal fit.
- Maintaining a screen-free environment when caring for the child is a must. The perfect candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys supporting the family, and brings warmth and a calming presence to the home. The family is very social and outgoing, frequently hosting friends and extended family while also traveling throughout the year. They highly value someone who goes above and beyond to support them, is adaptable, easygoing, and open to adventure. They are eager to welcome a nanny who can grow with them, connect well with the family, and genuinely feel like a trusted extension of their household.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Spanish.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and familiarity with developmental milestones for toddlers
- Ability to travel with the family throughout the year
- Maintaining a screen-free environment while caring for the child
- Able to swim and care for children in water
- Valid passport
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Dog-friendly
