Household dynamic:

  • An educationally-minded, outgoing, MD-based single dad is seeking a creative and organized rotational nanny/family assistant to join him in caring for his son! His 5-year-old son is a wonderful, curious, and energetic little boy who is a joy to be around. He loves trains, cars, sports, and learning about how things work. While he attends preschool during the day, the nanny will shift to providing general household support. Dad is excited to meet someone who can actively engage and support his son during this crucial time in his development!
  • Dad works from home and regularly travels for work. They enjoy quality time together and love traveling to exciting destinations such as England and the Caribbean. A candidate who is adaptable and open to providing additional support while Dad is away will be a great fit!

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for an adaptable and highly organized rotational nanny/family assistant who genuinely enjoys nurturing and supporting a lively, spirited child! They seek an educational-minded candidate who can incorporate a fun, playful, and creative approach to their care, whether splashing in the pool or exploring arts and crafts to encourage learning and foster self-expression. The child has a food allergy that affects his gastrointestinal tract, so sensitivity and careful attention to the child’s dietary needs are essential. The family will appreciate a candidate seeking a long-term commitment and confidence in supporting the family and the household.
  • Responsibilities include both childcare and family assistant tasks. Childcare responsibilities include creating an environment for the child to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, managing the child’s schedules, occasional errands, school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties are running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who is experienced with dietary restrictions, speaks a second language, has family-assisting experience, and/or holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with preschool-age children
  • Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
  • Longevity in a role
  • Willingness to pitch in with family-assisting tasks
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
  • Flexible to provide around-the-clock care when Dad is traveling
