Household dynamic:

  • This thoughtful, values-driven family is seeking an educationally-minded nanny to nurture and guide their children’s development! They have a 6-year-old daughter who currently attends Montessori school, and the family hopes to supplement her learning with enriching and intentional guidance at home. Their 1.5-year-old son is in an exciting stage of development, eagerly exploring the world around him. The nanny will be responsible for enriching the children’s growth, supporting their day-to-day with thoughtful integration of nature and play. Rooted in warmth, growth, and commitment to holistic development, the family is excited to work with a candidate whose own spiritual development, embodied wisdom, and depth of presence will help foster a nurturing environment for their children.
  • Dad works full-time and appreciates things being organized and outlined. Mom balances her dedication to the family with meaningful academic and creative pursuits, bringing thoughtfulness and intentionality to both her professional and home life. Once a month, the parents take a weekend away together and will value a candidate who can offer flexibility around these times. In the summer, the family typically spends four to eight weeks in Europe, and their nannies have historically alternated travel coverage during this time. The family values authentic presence, emotional intelligence, and emphasizes learning through direct experience, connection with nature, and balanced physical, emotional, mental, and social development. They are dedicated to nurturing their children’s growth and development by offering them opportunities for exploration and discovery. The household runs as a collaborative team, including two full-time nannies and additional household support already in place. Someone who enjoys working alongside hands-on parents, offering thoughtful support throughout the day and naturally stepping in to assist with child-related tasks and light household responsibilities as needed, while maintaining a supportive and team-oriented mindset, will be a great fit!

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for an emotionally intelligent, nature-loving, and educationally minded nanny who is genuinely passionate about providing hands-on care while supporting the children’s holistic development. An experienced, intuitive, and grounded candidate who has a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a personal connection to self-growth or a spiritual practice will fit right in! The ideal candidate will naturally attune to the children’s evolving needs, fostering their curiosity, creativity, and emotional resilience while integrating insights from the children’s educational programs. A candidate who excels outdoors and creates spaces for calm and exploration—integrating movement, practical life skills, and thoughtful transitions throughout the day while nurturing a sense of wonder—will thrive in this role.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment where the children can grow and thrive, collaborating closely with a hands-on Mom, and managing child-related household tasks. These duties include, but are not limited to, meal preparation for the children, tidying, organizing children’s areas, running occasional errands (including a weekly grocery run), handling before-and-after-school routines, coordinating enriching activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
  • While not a requirement, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience caring for multiple children simultaneously, a background in Early Childhood Education (ECE), or experience with movement practices (e.g., yoga, martial arts, dance, etc.), music, ecology/sustainability, and/or cultural enrichment. French-speaking skills are a huge plus!

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers through early elementary school-age children
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Flexible to travel throughout the year
  • Physical ability to lift young children
  • Educational background - formal training or teaching experience
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
