Household dynamic:
- This warm, values-driven family is seeking an experienced nanny to help run the day-to-day for their two children. They have a 6-year-old daughter who attends Montessori school, and a 1.5-year-old son who is in an active, exploratory stage of development. The nanny will be responsible for keeping the kids' day-to-day running smoothly — meals, routines, transitions, and hands-on care — alongside light household support.
- Dad works full-time and appreciates things being organized and outlined. Mom balances her dedication to the family with meaningful academic and creative pursuits, bringing thoughtfulness and intentionality to both her professional and home life. Once a month, the parents take a weekend away together and will value a candidate who can offer flexibility around these times. In the summer, the family typically spends four to eight weeks in Europe, and their nannies have historically alternated travel coverage during this time. The household runs as a collaborative team, including two full-time nannies and additional household support already in place. The family values direct, honest communication and a genuine team mindset — people who raise things openly rather than letting them build up, take ownership of what's theirs, and are quick to appreciate one another. Someone who enjoys working alongside hands-on parents, offering thoughtful support throughout the day and naturally stepping in to assist with child-related tasks and light household responsibilities as needed, while maintaining a supportive and team-oriented mindset, will be a great fit!
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a warm, efficient, and genuinely open-minded nanny who's comfortable running a full day of routines for two kids without a lot of oversight. The ideal candidate knows how to keep a household running smoothly and coordinates well with the rest of the team — helping keep an eye on what's running low, handling grocery runs as needed, and thinking ahead about school lunches. They're punctual, keep mornings, naps, and transitions on schedule, and naturally step in wherever the day needs them. The family is especially looking for someone who is open and curious — someone who observes closely, learns the rhythms of the family, and adapts their care accordingly. A collaborative mindset matters more than doing things "their way," and the family values each person's unique contributions to the team.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment where the children can grow and thrive, collaborating closely with a hands-on Mom, and managing child-related household tasks. These duties include, but are not limited to, keeping mornings/naps/transitions on time, meal and lunch planning/preparation for the children, helping keep the kitchen and pantry stocked in coordination with the household team, tidying and organizing children's areas, running errands (including grocery runs as needed), handling efficient before-and-after-school routines, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
- While not a requirement, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience caring for multiple children simultaneously. French-speaking skills are a plus.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Previous experience as a family assistant with a strong organizational mindset
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers through early elementary school-age children
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Flexible to travel throughout the year
- Physical ability to lift young children
- Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
