This loving, easy-going family in Columbus and Oconomowoc, WI is seeking a caring, organized, trustworthy nanny/family assistant to care for their twin infant daughters and help their household run smoothly.
- Location: Columbus and Oconomowoc, WI
- Ages of children: 6-week-old twins
- Start date: As soon as they find the right fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, live-in, guaranteeing 45 hours per week, with the general schedule running five consecutive days with at least one weekend day off. The exact work schedule will be 7am-7pm two days a week, with three 7-hour days three days a week. The longer days will be solely childcare-focused while on the shorter days, childcare time will be split with the family's au pair to allow for family assistant tasks to be completed.
- Compensation: The family is offering $40–$45/hour based on the 45-hour-per-week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of approximately $93,600–$105,300/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing private living quarters, use of a vehicle for household and personal transportation, food provided at both residences, a health insurance stipend, 10 days of paid vacation annually, federal holidays as either paid days off or paid at overtime rate, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-in. The candidate will reside on-property and must be willing to live and work at both residences; private accommodations are provided at each home.

- This warm, family-oriented Wisconsin single-dad household has recently welcomed twin infant daughters and is cherishing this special early stage as they settle into life with two new little ones! He is excited to find a live-in nanny/family assistant who brings a calm, nurturing presence to the home and has a strong understanding of infant development, routines, and the day-to-day needs of growing babies. The family also includes three older boys; his high school-aged son visits the home once a week, while the other two are grown and no longer at home. With the twins as the primary focus of the role, he is looking for someone who will provide loving, attentive care as the girls grow up!
- The family divides their time between two residences in Columbus and a lake house in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, so flexibility and a willingness to live and work at both homes are essential. This is a collaborative, well-staffed environment. The nanny/family assistant will work alongside an au pair, who will share daytime coverage, and bi-weekly housekeepers, who come in for deep cleaning. In addition to childcare support, the nanny/family assistant will also step in to assist with household tasks to maintain an organized home and provide active logistical support to the family’s childcare team. The family is welcoming and easygoing, and the family hopes to find a candidate who enjoys working collaboratively while keeping the household running smoothly.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a caring, organized, and experienced nanny/family assistant who genuinely loves working with infants and takes pride in creating a calm, safe, and nurturing environment for two little ones. The family is seeking a candidate who understands the developmental needs of babies as they grow from infancy into toddlerhood, as well as their routines and day-to-day needs. With two babies at the same stage, this person will be calm and comfortable balancing competing needs, and thoughtful about creating predictable routines while remaining responsive to each child as an individual. They will bring a nurturing, safety-conscious approach to care and enjoy supporting age-appropriate development through engaging, attentive interaction.
- The family is also looking for someone dependable and trustworthy, with excellent organizational and time-management skills and a proactive, see-a-need, fill-a-need attitude. Someone who anticipates needs and takes initiative will thrive here. The ideal candidate communicates proactively, coordinates cleanly with others, and enjoys being part of a well-run team. A candidate who embraces the rhythm of two homes and the flexibility that goes with moving between residences will feel right at home. The family hopes to build a warm, long-term relationship with the right candidate who joins them.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children's areas, baby laundry, and keeping nursery areas organized, establishing and maintaining consistent feeding and sleep routines, occasional errands, coordinating activities, and traveling and moving between the family's two residences throughout the year. Family assisting duties include light family meal prep, running errands, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors and service providers, managing the family calendar, and assisting with packing and preparing the home when moving between residences.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience with twins or multiples and working with nannies or au pairs in previous roles, and prior house manager, personal assistant, or household management experience. Cooking and meal preparation skills, including family meals, are also appreciated.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
- Experience caring for infants
- Valid driver's license
- Experience driving in snow
- Willingness to perform family assistant duties, including family meal prep
- Comfortable working and living with a single dad
- Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
