Upper Manhattan, NYC | Educational Nanny/Family Assistant Wanted For Vibrant Family
Private

This warm and tight-knit family based in Upper Manhattan is seeking a vibrant and organized nanny/family assistant to join their team!
- Location: Upper Manhattan, NYC
- Team structure: This role is part of a two-nanny household — in practice, you'll typically be caring for two children at a time, with responsibilities that shift naturally across the day as the children's schedules do.
- Start date: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 48 hours per week, Monday through Thursday.
- Compensation: The family is offering $45–$50/hour commensurate with experience and background, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $121k–$135k/year based on the 48-hour/week schedule.
- Benefits: The family is providing 10 days of paid time off, paid holidays, 5 paid sick/personal days, a $600/month health insurance stipend, and parking support or a MetroCard reimbursement as appropriate.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-out.
Household dynamic:
- This NYC family is excited to welcome an educationally-minded nanny to their team — someone who will help foster a positive, loving, and intellectually engaging environment for their children. Their children are very academically-inclined and the family maintains a zero-screen-time home.
- Both parents work full-time and bring genuine respect for their nanny's expertise — offering space and trust to lead the day. The family also employs a second nanny who works full days as well.
Ideal candidate:
- This family is seeking a warm, experienced, and highly capable professional who brings a loving, proactive, and organized approach to their bustling home. Beyond being nurturing and dependable, the family is excited to meet candidates who offer:
- Educational expertise: Classroom or tutoring experience, with a proven ability to support early literacy, numeracy, and curiosity-driven learning.
- Creative enrichment skills: Musical ability (instrumental or vocal), arts & crafts, storytelling, or drama experience that can enrich the children's afternoons.
- Strong organizational skills: Confidence in maintaining children's spaces and belongings with care, handling kid laundry and wardrobe organization, and ensuring play and learning areas are tidy and well-stocked.
- Family assistance: Prepping nutritious meals for the children, keeping groceries and household staples stocked, and coordinating busy after-school schedules.
- This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who brings professional-level childcare and educational expertise and is eager to become a trusted partner in a respectful, collaborative, and joyful household.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience working with infants through elementary-aged children
- Experience supporting children with homework or an educational background
- Willingness to support child-related family assisting responsibilities
- Experience caring for multiple children (2 or more)
- Living within a commutable distance of New York City
- Fully vaccinated, including MMR; CPR/First Aid (can be renewed upon hire)
