Household dynamic:

  • This intellectual, gentle couple is looking forward to growing their family this fall! Their newborn will be delivered via surrogate in mid-October, and they are assembling a dream team to support them for both the short-term and long-term! A newborn care specialist will be joining them to help welcome their son and travel home to San Francisco, providing guidance and structure during the baby’s first few months. During this time, the nanny will work daytime hours, aligning with the newborn care specialist’s routines, schedules, and best practices for the newborn throughout the NCS’s four-month contract.
  • These soon-to-be-parents are lifelong learners who enjoy reading together and are seeking a nanny with similarly calm, cool, quiet confidence and nurturing energy. Both parents mostly work outside the home and will likely be working from home a bit more with the arrival of their little one. Mom loves running and swimming, and is the organized one in the relationship! Dad is kind, quiet, and a daydreamer at heart. They will also have extended family nearby to support them for the first few months. The family is rooted in San Francisco, with little travel planned other than an occasional trip to Hawaii

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone warm and patient with calming energy and a genuine love for all stages of childhood! Someone who brings a balance of consistency and maturity to their role will be a perfect fit. The parents are hoping to meet candidates with demonstrated longevity in past roles and are excited to become a trusted, long-term member of their growing family. They are excited to welcome a nurturing nanny who values, respects, and understands the important role newborn care specialists play in homes and is willing to follow routines and instructions set by both the NCS and parents.
  • Responsibilities include following routines established by the newborn care specialist, child-related tasks including preparing, cleaning, and sanitizing bottles, child laundry, occasional errands, and creating a nurturing environment for the newborn to thrive in.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has experience working with a newborn care specialist.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
  • History of staying with families long-term (3+ years) with exceptional references
  • Experience working alongside newborn care specialists and/or co-nannies in respectful, professional relationships
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport and ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
