Household dynamic:
- This is an organized, close-knit family of four who love to stay active. With two daughters, aged 1 and 2, their house is full of life, laughter, and a bit of beautiful chaos. Their 2-year-old loves having books read to her and imaginative play, while their younger child is crawling and happily exploring her world. They are healthy and developing and are on a gluten-free diet by the family’s choice. Both of their children attend the same daycare program during the day. They are looking for someone who can expertly juggle two active toddlers while nurturing their individual personalities. The girls are home from school on random days off within the program, holidays, sick days, etc. On days they are away, the nanny/family assistant will be responsible for maintaining an organized home. Currently, the family is living in White Plains, but they are in the process of building their “forever home” in Greenwich, Connecticut. The family also has a super goofy and friendly dog whose favorite thing in the world is hiking!
- Both parents are hard-working, busy professionals and highly value reliability and honest communication. They are very involved, loving, and hands-on with their children, while also respecting and trusting professional caregivers. This is a dynamic, social household that delights in having close friends and spending time with its extended circle. The family is also avid travelers and loves to explore new places, often warm destinations like Mexico or St. Barts. Every month or two, they take a week-long trip; some trips are for leisure, and some are professional. During their trips, the family likes to include their children and the nanny in daytime activities. They are looking for someone adventurous who is excited to pack a bag and join them on family trips. While their household is not screen-free, they value screen time being reserved for special moments and value caregivers who do not rely on screens or shows during the day-to-day and will instead get the kids outside interacting with the world or with play-based, creative learning at home. The family is also supported by a house cleaner once a week and a night nanny who supports them three nights a week right now.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a warm, nurturing, grounded, and travel-ready nanny/family assistant who finds joy in supporting two curious, growing children. The ideal candidate brings a calm, capable presence to a dynamic, busy home and values genuine connection, communication, and care. The family is seeking someone engaging and resourceful who can seamlessly step in to nurture their two daughters in a primarily screen -free environment. A nanny/family assistant who can foster the girls' interests and encourage their curiosity through age-appropriate, learning-oriented activities will be a wonderful fit. The family maintains structured routines for the children, with a room for spontaneity, so someone adaptable and has a consistent approach to their care will feel right at home.
- This role includes childcare and family assistant responsibilities. A self-starter with excellent organizational skills who can confidently manage a smooth and well-organized household while anticipating the rhythms of the day will be a fantastic fit. Travel is an important part of the family’s life, and they are eager to welcome someone who can join the family adventures. As the family prepares to settle into their permanent home in Connecticut, they hope to find a nanny/family assistant who can provide stability for the children during this exciting transition and grow with their family for the long term.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties include running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping through a delivery app, tidying up and organizing the house, placing street trash/recycling out twice a week, Amazon and Costco orders for household items, dry cleaning drop off and pickup when needed, light pet care and organizing dog's hikes with his hiking service, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who is open to cooking healthy meals for the family.
