Central Richmond, CA | Gentle, Warm Nanny/Family Assistant Wanted For Bay Area Family

Open

This kind, loving, thoughtful family in the Bay Area is seeking a calm, engaging, responsible nanny/family assistant to provide warm, nurturing care for their son and support their organized home.

  • Location: Central Richmond, San Francisco, CA
  • Ages of children: 9 weeks old
  • Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40-44 hours per week, with the general schedule falling on either Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 6:30pm or Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm, or similar. Flexibility for night or weekend coverage is essential. The family is open to either schedule and happy to be flexible for the right candidate. As the family settles into a new routine and Mom finalizes her part-time work schedule, they would appreciate working with a nanny who is comfortable with some flexibility as they collaboratively refine the schedule to best support their needs.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $50-55/hour based on the 40-44-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation in the $104,000-$114,400/year, and $119,600 – $131,560 ranges.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out
  • Other notes: The family is highly prioritizing local candidates.

Household dynamic:

  • This is a conscientious, organized, and loving family of three who deeply value kindness, open communication, and creating a calm, joyful home environment. They have one adorable 9-week-old son who is at the heart of everything they do, and are looking for a nanny/family assistant who will provide loving, engaging, developmentally appropriate care while fostering a relaxed and nurturing environment. They view their nanny/family assistant as an important extension of their family and are excited to build a long-term relationship with someone who truly feels like part of their team.
  • This is a dual-career household, where Dad works outside the home, while Mom works part-time and is highly involved in childcare. Sometimes, the nanny/family assistant will be the sole caretaker of the child, while at other times caregiving responsibilities will naturally shift throughout the day using a "divide and conquer" approach with Mom. When Mom is present and caring for the baby, the candidate will transition into family-assisting responsibilities to keep the household running smoothly. They employ regular cleaners weekly and intentionally create opportunities for their nanny/family assistant to take breaks or head home early when appropriate. The family enjoys an active lifestyle and would appreciate a candidate who is open to traveling with them primarily for family vacations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a professional, experienced, infant-savvy nanny/family assistant who brings a calm, loving, and engaging approach to care. The ideal candidate is grounded, proactive, and genuinely passionate about supporting infant development while creating a nurturing environment where a child can thrive. Someone who enjoys working collaboratively with parents, communicates openly, and is naturally perceptive, taking initiative to "see a need and fill a need" throughout the home will be a perfect fit! The family is seeking a punctual, dependable professional who will become a true partner in raising their son and an extension of their family. A confident caregiver who is equally happy providing exceptional infant care and supporting the household with family-assisting tasks will thrive in this role.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, organizing children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, and coordinating activities. Family assisting duties include running errands, light meal planning and preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, returning packages, light tidying, and coordinating vendors.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who is comfortable preparing meals for the family, has experience supporting at least 2 families from infancy through preschool, and has access to a car for running errands. Flexibility and openness to travel 2-4 weeks per year is a strong plus! One parent speaks Spanish, so a Spanish-speaking candidate would be warmly appreciated.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants through preschool-aged children
  • Valid driver's license
  • Family-assisting experience
  • Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
