Household dynamic:
- A loving and energetic family in South Carolina is seeking a nanny to care for their active children, aged 1.5 and almost 3 years old. Both children attend nursery school during the week and are full of energy. They love to dance, play pretend, and spend a lot of time outdoors, either in their backyard or at beautiful Falls Park. The family lives in a vibrant, walkable neighborhood just a few minutes from downtown, the zoo, and other attractions. They enjoy the beautiful weather, and the city offers a great blend of nature and urban life, complete with an up-and-coming food scene that has garnered attention. This bilingual family also speaks Hindi and is excited to welcome someone into their warm, charming home!
- This is a dual-career household where both parents have a flexible work set-up and are regularly in and out of the home. They enjoy spending quality time together and travel frequently throughout the year, spending the summer in Long Island, NY. They are typically there from about Memorial Day throughout the middle of August. Occasionally, they take winter trips. Last winter, they spent the entire month of January in Jamaica. They anticipate taking similar winter trips in the future.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for an educationally-minded nanny who can naturally keep up with two spirited boys! The family is seeking a nurturing candidate who can support their development through intellectual engagement, including enrichment, reading, and Montessori-inspired activities. Someone excited to go down to their children’s level, playful, and enjoys bringing joy and excitement into their daily routines. The family values a professional and respectful nanny who can be firm and consistent in upholding boundaries. Both children are energetic and physically active, so a candidate who has stamina and can maintain loving boundaries will be ideal. Since travel is a regular part of the family’s rhythm, someone who is up for adventures and is eager to provide steady, supportive care while on the move, particularly during summertime in New York, will be a great fit. The family will also appreciate a candidate who brings a pitch-in mentality to their caregiving approach, and flexibility to provide sick care whenever needed is essential.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Their oldest son has a minor food allergy, so someone mindful of dietary needs and attentive to food safety will be key.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks Hindi and/or is comfortable preparing meals for the entire family.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Comfortable preparing basic meals for children
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs
- Flexible to travel with the family, including spending summers in Long Island
- Valid driver's license
- Valid passport
