Join this loving, active family in Dallas as their Newborn Care Specialist for a 2.5-month contract that includes travel to Turks and Caicos.

  • Location: Dallas, TX. The candidate will also join the family in Turks and Caicos in June, and potentially for other travel throughout the contract.
  • Ages of children: 2 months old. The family also has a 3-year-old and an 8-year-old.
  • Contract dates: ASAP through the end of August.
  • Schedule: Candidates can anticipate providing 5-6 days per week of 24/7 care. The family already has coverage for part of the shift during their trip to Turks and Caicos, so candidates will only provide 12-hour coverage during that week. Flexibility will be appreciated!
  • Compensation: Candidates are welcome to share their standard rates.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-in. A private bedroom and bathroom will be provided.

Household dynamic:

  • This on-the-go, organized family is seeking an experienced and adaptable newborn care specialist to join them at their Dallas home this summer to provide loving, attentive care for their sweet newborn daughter! They also have two active boys aged 3 and 8 years old who are into all things sports, games, building forts, and all things active and outdoors. Both boys are currently homeschooled and will transition back to traditional school in August. They hope to partner with a candidate who can provide a calm, safe, and nurturing environment for their newborn while supporting a smooth transition for the family.
  • The family leads a travel-filled and vibrant lifestyle. While they will primarily be at their home in Dallas this summer, they have a trip planned to Turks and Caicos and a couple of weddings that they will be attending. In Dallas, extended family members will be around to spend quality time together and lend a helping hand. The candidate will have breaks throughout the day when the parents are home and family members are available to pitch in. Someone who is travel-ready and excited to join the family adventures and be a supportive presence at home is essential. The family will deeply appreciate a candidate who can work collaboratively alongside family and other household staff, including a chef. Someone ready to jump in to support a clean and organized, well-run home will excel in this role.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for an experienced, professional newborn care specialist who is confident in caring for an infant and supporting its early growth and developmental milestones! The ideal candidate is someone who brings high energy, confidence, professionalism, and team spirit to the role. Tidiness will go a long way for this family! The family will deeply value a newborn care specialist who is established in their career and is self-directed and confident in anticipating the needs of their baby and in providing sole-charge care.
  • Responsibilities include creating a nurturing and safe environment for the newborn to thrive, as well as other child-related tasks, including prepping and sanitizing bottles, the baby’s laundry, tidying the nursery, and generally bringing a supportive, all-hands-on-deck, collaborative attitude to each day.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of relevant professional experience (as a newborn care specialist, night nanny, doula, or nanny)
  • Experience working as a newborn care specialist and/or doula with at least 5 families
  • Knowledge of every aspect of newborn care, including professional and working knowledge of feeding, bathing, and dressing infants, and preparing, cleaning, and sanitizing bottles
  • Experience and knowledge surrounding sleep conditioning, establishing routines, feeding routines, and developmental milestones
  • Newborn care specialist training, preferably through Newborn Care Solutions or another CACHE-accredited program
  • Travel experience
  • Ability to travel or provide sole charge care
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Passport with 6+ months of validity
