Household dynamic:

  • This busy, professional New Hampshire family is seeking a trusted partner to help them raise their two adventurous daughters in a home built on love, empathy, and respect for others! Their girls, ages 1 and 3, are curious explorers who enjoy books, outdoors, and snuggles. Their eldest adores sitting with books and appreciates her story times. She is a sensitive, deeply feeling child who sometimes needs help navigating big emotions. She thrives with a gentle structure and compassionate support. Currently, she attends preschool in the morning. Her younger sister is equally spirited and is developing. The family also has an energetic and sweet dog and a cat.
  • This is a progressive family with a mixed background, and they place a strong emphasis on tolerance, inclusion, and respect for many lifestyles and beliefs. This is a dual-career household where Mom is often on call while Dad works from home and appreciates his own space. The family enjoys a grounded lifestyle centered around nature, farm-to-table living, and community. They travel for a few weeks throughout the year for work trips and family vacations to vibrant cities, including New York, the Bay Area, and DC, and would love their nanny to join them on some trips or stay behind to maintain the home.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for an adaptable, proactive, and empathetic nanny who genuinely cares for children—keeping them safe, teaching them, and showering them with love and attention while also making the family’s lives easier. A positive and kind role model is essential: someone who is emotionally attuned and leads with kindness, while establishing firm yet fair boundaries through a calm and empathetic approach. Someone who can foster independence and guide the children through their big feelings with compassion will be a perfect fit. The girls especially love story time and hope to find someone who loves reading with them and enriches their daily routine.
  • The family is dedicated to raising strong, capable girls who are aware of their privileges and ready to take personal responsibility while giving back to the community. A nanny who aligns with this parenting style and shares these values will be a great fit. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and responsive to feedback. While Mom is highly involved at home and loves proactively planning, she needs support in planning and coordinating when work calls. Someone with family assisting experience and excellent executive functioning skills who is comfortable working with Mom will be highly valued. A proactive candidate who brings a see-a-need, fill-a-need mindset, able to anticipate the family’s needs, will be vital to this vibrant home. Since the family has pets and spends a lot of time outdoors with their home backing up to the woods, someone who loves pets, nature, and enjoys being in outdoor environments will fit in perfectly.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks, including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties are running errands, light meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, and managing the family calendar.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks a second language, particularly Spanish, French, or Hebrew.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Family assisting experience
  • Experience working with a work-from-home parent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Passport eligible (don’t have to have one currently)
  • Dog + cat friendly
