Household dynamic:
- This open-minded, informal family is seeking a nanny to join them in caring for their two young kids. At nearly 3 years old and 7 months old, they describe their children as curious and loving. Their almost-3-year-old will begin attending school half-days this year.
- While they are primarily in the Bay Area, they take a few vacations throughout the year and enjoy spending a few weeks in Alaska each summer. They will appreciate having their nanny join them! These parents are focused on providing a loving and respectful environment for their children to learn and grow in. While they have busy lives, they are very engaged parents who want to find a nanny who can be a partner in raising thoughtful, curious humans. They are in the home regularly, and will appreciate working alongside someone who can step back to give them time with the kids when they are around.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone who has a calm, positive, and loving demeanor. A candidate who is proactive and collaborative, and who naturally seeks to structure play around the children’s interests will be a perfect fit! The family looks forward to someone who will get on their children’s level and sing, play, and laugh alongside them. A nanny who is thoughtful about their approach to care and confident in utilizing RIE, Montessori, and positive parenting philosophies will align well.
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. A candidate who takes a holistic approach to care, and is willing to jump in and support child-related tidying and family assisting duties when parents are around will be appreciated.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who speaks a second language (ideally Spanish), or has a background in family assisting, Montessori, or RIE.
Requirements:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for the infant through preschool years
- Valid driver's license
- Fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19
