This friendly, professional family in San Francisco, CA is seeking a discreet, experienced, high-integrity rotational nanny to provide exceptional care for their two young children.
- Location: San Francisco, California, with travel including trips to Europe twice a year
- Ages of children: 1 and 5 years old
- Start date: ASAP, mid-October 2026
- Schedule: Full-time, rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off, 24/7 coverage is expected, although nighttime work is rare (both kids sleep through the night).
- Compensation: The family is offering $40/hr as a base rate, which equates to approximately $240k annually
- Benefits: The family is open to providing full health insurance coverage and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-in while on rotation, live-out when not on rotation.
- Other Notes: Fly-in/fly-out candidates are welcome, but local is strongly preferred
Household dynamic:
- This warm, easy-going family is seeking an attentive and collaborative rotational nanny to join their childcare team! Their 5-year-old is in kindergarten and participates in aftercare, so the nanny’s primary focus throughout much of the day will be their 1-year-old. The family looks forward to building a relationship based on mutual trust and collaboration and is excited to meet someone who can create a nurturing environment filled with fun, positive interactions to foster their children’s growth and development.
- This is a dual-career home where both parents have dynamic schedules and are passionate about their careers. The family typically travels to Europe twice each year, often visiting destinations such as Italy and Greece, and may take shorter domestic trips throughout the year. The rotational nanny should be comfortable providing seamless care while traveling and confidently adapting to changing schedules and environments. The household is also supported by a Chief of Staff and another Adventure rotational nanny. This is an easy-going but fast-moving household, and the family values a nanny who can jump right in, maintain discretion and professionalism, and help keep daily life calm and organized.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for an experienced, professional rotational nanny who genuinely loves caring for children and brings warmth, high integrity, discretion, stamina, and a strong work ethic to their role. The family is looking for someone who can jump right in, read the room, and confidently take ownership of the children’s care without adding unnecessary stress to the household. A playful, engaging rotational nanny who enjoys getting on the children’s level while also providing consistency, age-appropriate structure, and thoughtful developmental support will thrive.
- Collaboration and clear communication within a team environment are key to success in this role. The right candidate will work seamlessly alongside an existing rotational nanny and personal assistant, bringing an adaptable, team-oriented approach while maintaining the utmost discretion and professionalism to protect the family’s privacy at all times. The family would also highly value someone who is travel-ready, flexible, and comfortable embracing the dynamic rhythm of a rotational role and an ever-evolving family schedule.
- Responsibilities center primarily on the children (with a focus on the 1-year-old), creating an environment where both kids can grow and thrive. Because the household employs cleaners and a personal assistant, non-childcare duties are limited to occasional child-related tasks—including meal prep, tidying, and organizing children’s areas—along with managing routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family. A candidate with a willingness to jump in on family-assisting responsibilities when time allows will be greatly appreciated.
- While not a requirement, the family would love to work with a candidate who has demonstrated longevity in a previous nanny role - ideally 5+ years with one family. Prior ROTA experience, ideally sustained over multiple years and local to the Bay Area are also pluses!
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for toddlers and preschool-aged children
- Willingness to travel with the family
- Experience traveling with families and children
- No unexplained gaps on resume
- A strong work ethic and integrity and is discreet, with experience protecting a family's privacy
- Valid passport
- Ability to live-in while on duty and live-out while off duty
- Partners, family members, and/or pets cannot be housed in any temporary or long-term accommodations provided by the family
